Just a quick question re the HR data that is listed when you call up the details of an individual row (PM3):

I always assumed the the HR figure listed for each split was the average for that split, but I used my Polar HRM today in addition, and the averages don't even come close to agreeing.

So I'm guessing the PM3 is listing the HR at the end of the split? And if so, what is it listing as the HR for the overall row?

Sorry if this should be obvious...

Pete in Atlanta

If it's like my heart rate monitor, it is showing the current heart rate.

On the PM3, it takes the split data and averages it to give the average for the whole row... however if you do a just row session and the last "split" is jsut a few seconds and the data in that last split is way off the rest of the splits, it'll whack the average, as all splits are weighted equally.

Someone from C2 seemed to imply that the HR data recorded for each split _was_ supposed to be the average for each of the splits... but it could very well be just the last good reading as the split boundary was crossed.

That is correct. The HR associated with each split is the "Ending" heartrate of the split, not the average. The summary heartrate for a workout is the equally-weighted average of the split heartrates.

Mark

Thanks, all. After a couple more sessions with the Polar it became obvious that the "HR associated with each split is the "Ending" heartrate of the split, not the average", as Mark says.

Pete in Atlanta

QUOTE(mlyons @ Nov 20 2005, 05:09 AM)

That is correct. The HR associated with each split is the "Ending" heartrate of the split, not the average. The summary heartrate for a workout is the equally-weighted average of the split heartrates.

Mark
