Missing Parts

Post by JDShaffer » October 21st, 2006, 9:32 am

After using a C2 at the gyms I finally bought a used one for home. It is a model C and it is missing a few parts and I trying to be sure before I buy the parts I have all the ones I need figured out. I am missing 1 monorail hanger #1102 but the diagrams on the webpage also show a bottom front bumper #1007, But the bolts that came with the unit aren't long enough to go through any other parts then a top and bottom hanger. Was the bumper always put on the unit?
The other question is on the return mechanism cover #1526. This cover isn't on mine nor are any of the clips that are shown that hold it in place. I am finding it difficult to think that someone would have removed the cover and the parts that held it in place. But if it is supose to be there I would like to replace it. So again the question is if this cover was always used?
Thanks, Jeremy.

Ok I hope this link works. This is the Concept2 install guide for the Return Mechanism Cover that I don't have.
On the other question I believe I figured it out. It appears the monorail hanger #1102 goes into the bottom front bumper #1007, therefore no height is added.
I believe what happend is that whoever took it a part couldn't figure out how it worked so they just took off parts until the unit fell into 2 pieces.
I was also wondering about the serial number, on the order form on the internet is says that I have to have it to order, but the only numbers I see in the location described are hand written. Is this how they did it?

Call C2 and they'll send the parts to you.

JD- You're right about the hanger/bumper and bolt length question. The bumper does not increase the length of the bolt required. The Return Mechanism Cover was added to the machine as a requirement to get TUV certification for sale in Germany and other European countries. It is a simple plastic cover that slides into place with no fasteners or clips and will fit on all Model C, D and E machines. This is not necessary for operation of the machine, but if there is any concern about little fingers (or cats) getting greasy you might want to install one. The serial number (located on the bottom of the front end under the axle) was indeed hand written, though for the parts you are interested in the SN shouldn't matter. C2JonW

Thanks for the replies. I ordered all my parts and hopefully will have the unit put together by the weekend. Overall the parts with shipping cost $20. So with the $20 the rower cost ( I picked it up at a 2nd hand store) I think I ended up with a very good price at $40.
