estimate of 6k time based on 3k time

Post by kontek » September 8th, 2006, 5:43 pm

Hey folks, new to the boards, I have a question. I have a 6k erg test coming up for my fall crew season and I have been doing a good amount of cross training up till now and erging here and there as well. I did a 3k piece just to get back use to the erg and went 150.0 (11:00.1) and prepare myself for the upcoming 6k without burning myself out. Where would be an accurate measure of what my 6k time could be if thats my 3k time?

as well I have another question about online rankings, if i m doing a 6k piece and I get a personal record at the 3k mark for 3000m as well overal for the 6k piece, can I rank both of them on the online ranking or do they have to be done on seperate workouts?

I'd say 23:00, which is a 1:55.0

good luck

6k is 3k plus 3/4 seconds on average

I agree with trap_star. For the first one pace yourself @ 1:55 then at 1k left see what you got left.
PB's:
500: 1:39
2k: 6:43.3
6k: 21:44.1

My PB paces are 1:51/2k, 1:53.7/54, and 1:54.2/6k.

That would be around 1:52.2 for a 3k.

So I'd say add 2 seconds to your 3k for a 6k.
bikeerg 75 5'8" 155# - 18.5 - 51.9 - 568 - 1:52.7 - 8:03.8 - 20:13.1 - 14620 - 40:58.7 - 28855 - 1:23:48.0
rowerg 56-58 5'8.5" 143# - 1:39.6 - 3:35.6 - 7:24.0 - 18:57.4 - 22:49.9 - 7793 - 38:44.7 - 1:22:48.9 - 2:58:46.2
