What an amzing clan you are, Shannon!!! You must have something like a rowing gene! :D My compliments to all the young aspiring rowers in our boats - you all did great!!!

I had to take a break from rowing for a while because of illness, and maybe over-training too. I guess I just can't do both: row long distances and row fast, and since my focus has to be on losing some more weight (which I forgot over all the competing and getting times for the Nonathlon), I decided to go back to rowing long-slow distance. Don't know if I can muster up the energy to do a 500m row this month, but there are still 10 days left, so we'll see.

Brigitte,

I am sorry to hear that you have been feeling under the weather lately.

I see that you have a spiffy new 2K PB in your sig now though! Awesome. I'd be totally thrilled to go under 8:20. I have been stuck at 8:28 for some time now.

I've got 5 more weeks left in my current training program and then I plan to start training for a marathon. Maybe we can get together to do some long, slow stuff online then.

Thank you for the kudos, Shannon! :D The 2k was the first and only one I did for the August race series, and I'm quite happy about the time. But I felt sick during and after ther race, and felt that I had no energy left and was fatigues for day after it, so I decided to needed a break.

Is there a specific training program you plan to do for the marathon? When will be the great event? It would be great to do some long slow rowing online together again, when you have finished your current plan.

Well the last few days have seen us rowing through the Woomera Rocket Range. That may explain why there is so little showing up on google earth. It is relatively isolated, unpopulated territory.

We are now over 60% of the way across Australia.

Nice to see the meters adding up and to see Brian T has posted 70k. We were worried about him, but I guess he is still on his erg.

Keep on rowin', eh.

Brigitte,

I am hoping I'll be in shape for a marathon sometime around American Thanksgiving - November 23rd. I don't really have a special program, I just slowly add on more distance all-in-one-sitting. I would be glad to do some long stuff together online. I'll drop you a line when I am ready to start.

That's great news that Brian is OK!!!!! I noticed that the town he was living in in Israel wasn't that far from where the bombs were falling  Thanks for the good news Jim :) . I know he had a new job in a different local for the fall, but I don't know if he's moved yet? John.

I did it again :x This is really John here. I forgot to check to see that Shannon was signed in. I'm not really a lightweight female

I have copied Michelle's post here to the Eh!Team thread.
Hello Eh! Team!
Finally hopped in a boat. This month has been filled with family health crisis, so have only rowed a couple times. Plan on getting back into the swing of things. Nice to see the kids participating.
Hope everyone enjoys the last couple weeks before Labour Day.
Michelle
Michelle,
I hope things have settled down with the crisis. Welcome back on board.

Keep on rowin', eh.

It's back on the road again for me this weekend. All pleasure though!

I did try to put in a few kliks in case there is no rowing machine at the hotel and I managed to get a new PB on the 500. It moved our boat up a place at the C2C challenge! I was happy :D It was almost 2 seconds off my previous 500 m time.

Hopefully there will be an erg and I can keep helping move our boat around the world.

Keep on rowin', eh.

Congratulations Jim! 1:33.9 is very fast, and 2 seconds is a huge improvement!

There is no way I can make boat #1 :( , you guys are just too strong!
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Thanks for the kudos, hosers. It's amazing how much these little encouragments help me to hang on for a better time.

We are currently "passing through" Mungo National Park in New South Wales. It is a world heritage site and the terrain looks rather desolate.

I am going to try and put in a few kliks.

Congratulations to our Zeb for doing the CTC! With Zeb's entry, there are now five cousins in the same boat :D .

I've got my last bike race of the year this weekend, then I'll be ready to really hit the erg. I'll have to wait a while though. I'm going on holidays from Sep. 5th to the 15th. I'm flying across to Halifax to surprise my Mom on her 80th birthday.
