Got to give the E a spin at Masters Nationals, the PM4, with the built in ability to set up a race and have others join was neat, the buttons on the PM4 seem to be a bit more robust also.

Sitting up higher was mostly not that noticable, but setting your feet down to get off it made a lot of difference.

The Damper settings are deeper molded into the fan cage and now can actually be seen on both the D and E.

Paul, I'm not sure whether you mean a good difference or a bad difference...could you elaborate a bit? I've heard people worrying about "falling off" as well as people thinking it would be better for disabled/elderly populations--or simply those who don't want to get down "so low"...

Alissa,

It is getting up from that low seat that is so damn hard - even if I just sit on it for a few strokes to get the DF. If the toilet seats in our house were that low, I would have to get handicap bars installed around them to be able to get up each time. It is not quite that bad getting up from the erg, since I can tuck my feet in closer and get better leverage, but it isn't easy.

The guys at the C2 booth indicated that there was a distinct difference in demographics between the people who were concerned with the additional distance to fall, and the older/wiser folks that liked the ease of sitting down and standing up from the greater height.

I've never fallen to the floor after even my most grueling Erg test, never had the need for so much drama... Others might argue that I just never pushed myself to the limit, which I suppose is another opinion.

I guess the Model Es are rolling out the door now. I received my Model E rower this afternoon. Still got a lot to learn, but my two young sons and I did some get-acquainted rowing tonight. I'm new to Concept 2 and rowing, but pretty satisfied (if sore) so far. I was considering getting a rower for several weeks, comparing the Model D to the 2 water resistance rowers, but the C2 total package (product + web support + community) won out. Once I had made up my mind on getting the C2, I saw the Model E was going to be available soon. Despite the added price, I liked the height and latest/greatest monitor combination of the Model E (not to mention the addititional wait that would have been required for getting either of the Model D options (guess they were concentrating on revving up Model E production)).

I'm hoping all the motivational tools in the PM4, the C2 individual challenges, the C2 website resources, and the experienced experts at this forum help keep us rowing regularly for a long time to come.
