Adams has not fully committed himself to rowing at WiRC 2007 as far as I know. I have received information that he says he will prove himself by the end of the season, what better place than WiRC to do so.

How long is Adams willing to carry on this pantomime performance?

If by some miracle Adams finds himself sitting in the arena on an erg next to me, that will make me the happiest man in Boston. Nothing will give my more satisfaction to row this fake into Permanente hiding.

Adams, I am counting down the days.

Right. Why should anyone from Phoenix bother with WIRC or BIRC? Boston is a long way from Phoenix and not exactly a winter paradise; BIRC is practically on the other side of the world and I can't imagine that Britain is all that appealing in the late Fall. There are plenty of choices in the western hemisphere and these are just the satellite regattas. There are a number of others as well.

(From the C2 site) The twenty satellite locations are:

San Diego, California
Toronto, Ontario
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Melbourne, Florida
Victoria, British Columbia
Cincinnati, Ohio
Dallas, Texas
Baltimore, Maryland
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Sacramento, California
Chattanooga, Tennessee
Alexandria, Virginia
Atlanta, Georgia
Long Beach, California
Denver, Colorado
Seattle, Washington
Elkhart, Indiana
New York City, New York
Madison, Wisconsin
San Francisco, California

Dallas, Long Beach, and San Diego would be the venues of choice for anyone from Phoenix. Denver is another, but has the disadvantages of altitude and winter weather. Perhaps Phoenix itself has an open, non-satellite regatta.

HJS,

Perhaps you are right - that remains to be seen. I don't take any position on that issue. I just wanted to take a shot at the narrow focus that this forum seems to take on the BIRC and WIRC - as if those were the only ones that counted.

regards,

Bob S.

I agree with you two ... a venue race is a venue race wherever it's held. Being able to put down a time, in public, for all to see, is an accomplishment, wherever it's done. People see with their own eyes what the monitor displays.

Mumbles. Dwayne can not, never has and never will be able to beat me. He has never rowed a sub 7 at any public race he has ever attended, what makes you think that will change now?

I however am improving month on month, every 2000m I have rowed I have gone quicker and quicker.
Dwayne will never be brave enough to race in public again, the game is up, it is game over.

I am training to be the best 40+ performer on the Erg ever. BiRC will be an exciting race to watch. Not as exciting as WiRC 2007 though. it is not often you will get to see 40 year olds row sub 6 minutes and now there are a few of us that have the ability to do so.

Mumbles, Dwayne will never beat me, even for those of you that believe in him to be capable of the times he claims,
I would still never let him beat me, you would have to carry me of the C2 machine in a coffin for me to lose to anyone. I refuse to be beaten, I never have been beaten and I don’t intend to start losing now.
Okay I've been in this game for years and years now and have my fair share of medals and experiences at races. We've had Schroeder vs. Shurmei, Pinsent vs. Cracknell, Benton vs. the UK, the lot. Nothing like this - awesome

Chad, for what you just said - you're a legend. I wish there were more people in the erging community like this. Look forward to meeting you at BIRC.

Chad, maybe you should pay for Dwayne's trip and accomodation. $5000 might cover it
