New PB on 2km
New PB on 2km
Got my Model D in March, 2006. Before that, I've used a cheap erg.
Started the 15 week 2km training program in April, followed the book. I was aiming for a sub-7...
Last Saturday, I did the test in the early morning (7:45) , because of the heat here in the Netherlands. I am glad with the 15-sec improvement.
Old PB: 7:19.9
New PB: 7:04.2
Boy, I was dead...

Well done, Herman.
Keep being persistent on the erg and you will do well. Perseverence is key.
As Sir Winston Churchill once said:
"Continous effort is the key to unlocking our potential."
I would not presume to disagree with the great man, however, I would say it's OK to get off the rowing machine every once in a while so your life is not one continous rowing effort and you can make room for other things in your life such as reading this forum. So intermittent effort is pretty good too.

Hello Tyn,
My max HR is about 190 (I think), mostly based on a 187 beat I once saw on the LCD. I am 40 years old, 74 kg. I started with concept2 rowing in April this year, before that, I rowed much less, on a cheapy.
SUb-7 is still a goal, but for next year. After a holiday break, I start with the marathon training program. Aiming for a sub-3 hour. Then, the 2km again!
Regards, Herman.

I think a nice goal for you is to compete at the Dutch Open Marathon championship in Strijen. It will be around april 2007. I was there in 2006 and it was great. Well organized and a good spirit.
