Hi all,
I just joined your Row Pain Row Gain group which I hope is no problem.
Anyway I have been rowing off and on for about a year and finally about a month ago began to take it seriously so I can get this extra weight off myself. I am shooting for 200lbs and I currently weigh 365lb so a long way to go and am looking for any support I can get.
Thanks for having me.
Mike
I just joined your RPRG group
Welcome aboard!!!
I started out at 260 and I'm down to 245. Im trying to reach 190. We are all trying to shed the extra pounds and get back in shape. The more people involved in the forums the better off we all are. To keep us motivated and exchange successes, training tips and anything else to try to make the difficult process easier.

Welcome aboard Mike. I just joined the team this year as well. I've been a runner since college, but had to accept the fact last year that my back couldn't take it any more. I've always been intrigued by rowing and in looking for a shell discovered indoor rowing. I personaly hit a wall when I got within 10 pounds of my goal of 170, but I can say that I haven't put any back on.
Being part of this team and trying to keep up with my rank on the team has been a great motivator. I also enjoy watching how the team is doing relative to the other teams. (I'd love to see us back in the top 10 again.) Another motivator for me is when I see us getting close to another team, I'll do an extra couple of K's to try help push us to the next rank. Just focus on what ever works for you that keeps you on the erg longer.
And here's more inspiration for the team. My 8 year old daughter asked to join tonight. We had her affliated with a team of all kids, but no one was rowing and she got frustrated at not being challenged to keep her rank. She was nervous about "competing" with adults, but I showed her that she'd already be ahead of at least 10 people. She also thought it was cool that her meters helped push the team over 11 million meters and bump the Taff team from the 13 rank.
