Of course for a long time it wasn't understood why bumblebees could fly, that is because the analysis assumed they had fixed wings. As soon as the math for rotary wing aircraft (helicopters) came along it was very easy to show how they fly. Another legend bites the dust. <br /><br /><!--QuoteBegin-PaulS+Apr 19 2005, 12:22 PM--><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><div class='genmed'><b>QUOTE(PaulS @ Apr 19 2005, 12:22 PM)</b></div></td></tr><tr><td class='quote'><!--QuoteEBegin--><!--QuoteBegin-Exrook+Apr 19 2005, 09:17 AM--><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><div class='genmed'><b>QUOTE(Exrook @ Apr 19 2005, 09:17 AM)</b></div></td></tr><tr><td class='quote'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Well, I too can see birds fly, and that is proof enough for me. Take note:<br /><br />John has never rowed in a Sculling/Sweep boat, possibly never even seen one in person, yet for some reason makes sweeping judgements on the fitness of equipment for the purpose which it has been overwhelmingly accepted by the very people who he claims to be at the leading edge of the sport, Luini and Ebbesson to name a few. <br /><br />"Never introduce facts into a good argument!"

Paul and others-<br /><br />As forum members who are frustrated by 'discussions' with John Rupp, we should just enact a policy of not 'feeding the Rupp'. In this thread, the first five entries were John talking to himself. Then, Paul made a comment likely because he couldn't stand by idly. If the Rupp is ignored, he or his threads will go away.<br /><br />DONT' FEED THE RUPP!!!<br /><br />Neil<br />M/LW/US/38

Guilty as charged, the best part is that John has chosen to "ignore" me, and his ignor-ance has never been appreciated more, except that he is truly missing out on some really fun discussion points...

Does Ford realise that in all these years they have never ever come up with a new car, never made a new model - that in reality according to one person they have just 'modified' the Model T over and over again.

"Regular" and UNmodified are not the same thing.<br /><br />You can be "regular" by clearing your constitution every morning.<br /><br />You can be a "regular" guy, whatever that is.<br /><br />You can be a "regular" erg, meaning like "someone" thinks a regular guy would be.<br /><br />Rick might think Dennis is a "regular" guy, for example.<br /><br />Thus you can have a "regular" erg, that's been modified by C2, since "someone" thinks C2 guys are "regular" too.<br /><br />That is not the same thing as making modifications to the erg.<br /><br />Also consider the standard we are using here, which is rowing in a boat.<br /><br />Thus the modifications we are looking at, are as C2 has changed things from rowing in a boat, i.e. the level of the railing, the high fixed position of the rigging etc.<br /><br />The B was modified compared to the railing and rigging in a boat, whereas the C and D were more modified than the B.
