Greetings To All UNM Mates:
As most of you are now aware, C2 had to shutdown the "html features" on the University/Team pages during the past week. I have conversed with Bill @ C2 to find that the inappropriate actions of a few people resulted in C2's decision to shutdown the html option permanently.
For those of us laggards (all folks rowing less than Nigel from Free Spirits), Bill suggested that we consider the use of a new forum site as our vehicle to communicate, note new postings and otherwise banter about things that are important to us. Go Canes! (Sorry, John and Dave - I couldn't help myself).
Tom and I have discussed how to get this site going as we both share a common depression when we can't share our rowing thoughts (will your hands really fall off if you row 70,000 meters/day - ie Nigel), vacation plans (where are we going next John C), health considerations (get well soon Andrew), as well as other challenges (including Bonnies 2:30 AM HM for the Summer Soltice Row - PS - She brought her Soltice Certificate to work this morning to rub my nose in it).
Our resident physician (Dr. Kevin) continues to espouse that "Pain is my friend" and he has provided interesting challenges to each of us with the VO2max and Weight Adjusted Time calculator (How does he have time to work and ride a bike 30+ miles/day and row.... Did the Dr. find a way to compress time or add hours to the day?).
I will be forwarding everyone a note about the new UNM message board.
If anyone has comments or other thoughts (I've already asked Bill @ C2 if we can get a quicklink on the Personal Online page that will take us to the University and Club Corner.
Shaazzaam! Look at the heading for the posting and you can have color and bold and fonst sizes and smiley faces and all kinds of good stuff. WOW! Now I can keep up with Bonnie's wild use of other html toys to brighten up my messages! The University and Club Corner is at the very bottom of the regular C2 Forum page (see links below - if I got them formatted right). I hope to see you all there.
Best regards,
Rick Fahle

Hey Rick, this is great! Thank you again for getting this going, and thank you too, C2 Bill, for coding everything. Great work.
I don't think I'll be aiming for 70K today but I'm certainly going for a couple of half marathons to get to that 2MM mark sooner rather than later.

Nice job getting this set up Rick!
On a different note, Bonnie must enjoy a little pain also doing a half at 2:30 am. I thought I was nuts doing a 10 k by 5:30 am before a 12-hr shift!
Row well UNM.

Pain is having to do 40 thousand meters between 5PM and 9PM. It's been a long work day, I'd better get started!

I hope the rest of you have had an equally enjoyable rowing experience as well on this lovely Summer Solstice Day/Night.

Brian:
You're right that is stinks; but, Bill Patton at C2 has been great to work with on getting this forum page set up. Tom B gets the credit for leading me to view the UK site and when HTML went away, Bill offered to help us with the forum. I goofed off yesterday working only about 8 hours and did a little yard work before going to bed early. No rowing until tonight. Hopefully, 15k on Mo, Tu, Th, Fr (2:04/500 pace) will keep me above my 50k/week target.
Season Goal: Average 7,500 meters/day
VO2max: Q1-2006 45.70 (Near Mortal Being)

Bill did an excellent job on this Corner. I'm going to ask the Eh! Team if they'd like to join us(and any other US board-based teams), and then maybe Bill can move us up the page a bit!
Brian: Thanks for putting in another 25K. I noticed the increase right away. Our team is super quick when everyone gets going at once. In a few weeks we should be halfway around the world in meters.
Rick: The second you leave for vacation or another meeting, Jenn is going to pass you. At least that's what she's telling me. I'd be careful!

Tom:
Let her know that I got 22,500 last night to try to stay even with Bonnie. I guess I better watch out from Wed & Thu as I travel to Boise, ID. I hope she runs over me when I'm not watching. On Friday evening we fly to OK for 4 - 5 days, I guess it will happen then and I will be chasing two women who have run by me (while I'm falling farther and farther behind).
GREAT JOB LADIES! There is no shame being erged over by either of you.
