Right. Got it. Slackers like me.

No, you're not. While it may be a legitimate total, it is hard to believe anybody can average 70k a day. Even if they have the time, to be able to erg/row for 5-6+ hours a day is amazing.ehagberg wrote:Am I the only one who finds the topmost entry on the Annual Meter Board to be a little hard to believe?
Yes Gus, but obsession with, "Are they cheating or are they not?" is, in my OPINION (operative word here ... OPINION), unhealthy.Gus wrote:Others may disagree, but I think discussion about the times and distances of the top performing individuals is part of the enjoyment of the sport.
For what it's worth, I don't believe he's falsely adding meters to the till. He's retired, has all the time in the world, and like he once said in his profile "I enjoy beating all the younger guys," or something to that effect. Also, I think he's attempting to get his 20MM tote on the same day as his 1MM pin.mpukita wrote:Yes Gus, but obsession with, "Are they cheating or are they not?" is, in my OPINION (operative word here ... Chad: think that maybe some people do care about mileage as much as you do about WRs. Not anybody has to be at your level.Chad Williams wrote:What’s all the fuss about? So what if he claims all this weekly mileage, it does not bother me one bit.
I will wait till he starts claiming WR times for all distances in his age group, then we can start asking questions about this mans abilities, unless he shows up at a race of course.
That's fine as long as he's actually doing the meters.tbarrick wrote:For what it's worth, I don't believe he's falsely adding meters to the till. I never said he didn't have the right to feel or believe anything he wanted, nor did I say it was "invalid", did I? I just asked a few questions, yes?Chad Williams wrote:Ehagberg has the right to ask the question, it is a valid one too. It is obvious that he cares.
Eric, do we know when he started? Perhaps he had built up over a period of years, but just discovered the on-line log, etc... (I took a quick look at the 2006 boards & didn't see him, but I could have just missed it.)ehagberg wrote:That's fine as long as he's actually doing the meters.tbarrick wrote:For what it's worth, I don't believe he's falsely adding meters to the till. I just don't believe that regardless of having all the time in the world that anyone would be able to spend it doing that level of meterage every single day, not having built up to it over a period of years.
No, actually that's not what I asked or implied. I was looking for motivation for asking such a question. What motivates someone to be concerned to the point where they post about it? Where they question another's veracity of the meters another posts. Eric answered my question.Chad Williams wrote:Mark, you imply that because the said topic does not interest you then it is not worthy of any discussion.
