I'm new around here so don't know who you are. Do you have a secret handshake with DigitalRowing? Your experience doesn't tally with mine. The time previous to this problem when I contacted DR support over problems with activating the product key, sure I got a reply, but was more or less told I was doing things wrong - until they bothered to check for themselves and found that the relevant page on their site was blank!

PC software is an ephemeral thing ... one's levels of operating system (Windows XP) software, the other software one has installed, the memory and processor involved (hardware), one's browser type and level all have an impact on how the software performs (amongst other things).
The number of permutations and combinations of issues that can arise is astounding (and perplexing for software developers).
I have never had any problems with RowPro software that weren't fixed by a quick close and reopen, but I have all kinds of software installed that identifies and removes all the silly stuff that creates problems.
My sense is that the RowPro software is very stable, but I have no opinion on support, because I've never needed to use it ... which is a good thing.

I think DR support can be terrible. I emailed support a couple of years ago and didn't get a prompt response (can't remember if I got a response). Many other people have also complained on their forum over the years. They also don't adequately explain or test the versions of RP that they release.
Hardgainer, I haven't heard of your problem so I don't think it has been reported on this or the DR forum for the past 2 years. But it sounds like a "profile" problem, and there have been plenty of profile problems over the years. Each of us seem to have 3 profiles in RP, which all should be the same: one on your computer, one at oarbits, and one at the race server. The problems occur when one of these doesn't match or is corrupted. One of the fixes in 2.002 is to improve the registration and handling of new users and their profiles. So I would guess the bug is in that new fix. As far as I can tell, DR support is required in order to fix a problem with your profile, since I bet it is on the race server and we don't have user access to that info.

It seems to me there is better response to questions about RowPro on the forum, rather than by direct e-mail. I only say this because most of the complaints I hear are from people who have e-mailed problems in to DR. Perhaps the support forum is a better option that's more frequently monitored by DR.
Someone once said that DR is only one person, so one can understand that support could be an issue at times.
How the heck does one take a holiday (vacation) in a one-person company?

Online rowing identity bug
Nope. Still same problem. Still no response from DR. I've emailed them (him?) again.
[Edited update]:
Wait ... we have communication this time (within the hour!) and an apology. A bit of tweaking of the database and it seems like it's all fixed now. Thanks to a guy named Pete.
Now just need to find someone slow enough to row a test session with me! Some of the comments around this forum are a bit scathing of the not-so-fit.

Re: Online rowing identity bug
I'm probably guilty of some of those comments but it's all a matter of trying some workout sessions online and finding a group that suits your pace.HardGainer wrote:

At the moment there are so few sessions happening online that there really isn't much choice. I suspect the northern hemisphere summer might have a lot to do with that and things should return back to normal when it gets cooler.
I also noticed that there is a growing number of Rowpro online racers taking to the water in real boats. Paul, Ancho, Holm, myself and just recently Frank.
PBs: 2K 6:13.4, 5K 16:32, 6K 19:55, 10K 33:49, 30min 8849m, 60min 17,309m
Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.
