I think I will do a 2K test next week.
Anyone got one planned anytime soon?
Does anyone know how Chad got on with his? Was it this weekend just gone?

Do you think I am going to leave myself wide open to attack by people asking me for proof of my 2k test result?
If you want to see what I can do come to BiRC and WiRC

Why the hell not. You've attacked everyone else on this forum.
If you're truely in the form that you say you're in, you should have pulled something in the neighborhood of a 6:03. Well, out with it man. Or are you chicken???

This only works, or did work, or will work (tough to figure) with Marty McFly.

Around a week and a half ago, Chad posted a workout where he held around a 1:47/500m pace for basically an hour and a half at r20.
I would guess that's about his 60% level of intensity. 1:47/500 pace is about a 295w effort @ r20.
It's reasonable to guess then that he could do a 2k @ 490w to 495w, which would bring him in slighty below 6:00 @ a rate of about a 33.
However, doing a 60% effort for an hour and a half is pretty mind numbing (or perhaps body numbing) - perhaps he was working at a slightly lower level - say 55% to 59%, maybe 57%. If that were the case, then it's reasonable to guess that Chad could do a 2k in 518w, which would bring him in, I'm guessing (I don't have the conversion table for watts to pace in front of me) at around a 5:55 give or take a few seconds.
Problem is there are some confounding considerations - was Chad well rested for this effort? Was he just trying to do OK but not push the envelope -(after all he has months before BIRC)?
My guess (after all I don't know Chad and wouldn't know Chad if he walked by me on the street) is he was doing a 2k reasonably well rested and he was doing a 2k from which he could build on and he wanted to dispell the 6:00 barrier bogeyman: 5:59.
Don't try to write a post like this at home kids.
By the way, I'm rooting for him (or anyone for that matter) to show us how it's done at BIRC. I'm rooting for anyone who excels at my favorite hobby.

You have good knowledge of our sport jjpisano, you are not far out with your educated guess.

I quote Chad here...
if the poll says that people do not want me around then I will leave the forum.
And yet you're still here. Live up to your word man and leave for good.
