Form

Post by masterk13 » May 30th, 2006, 2:22 pm

Hopefully this is an easy problem to resolve. Been Concept2 erging for about 5 months. My form seems to be getting more fluid but I still cannot completely figure out The Drive phase.

The technique instructions for The Drive state to press your legs down. I just feel like I am pushing back as hard as I can muster each stroke. When I try to push down I have no power and feel awkward.

Any instruction to help me get straightened out on this will be highly appreciated.

Whatever you do to drive the handle away from the flywheel in the horizontal plane is good, everything else is not so good.

It sounds as if you are having some semantic difficulty with the usual explanations, which means that they just don't work for you.

How about "driving the knees down", but do make sure to not slam the knees down to hyperextension, just far enough that the seat has travelled as far as it can, but no more.
