Great move Chad, you've whined so much about times you've forced Concept 2 to make a change to the recording methods such that a machine has to be in a public place. I don't know about you but where I live, not a lot of gyms have C2s and if they do they're stuck in a bad location because the average gym user doesn't know who to row. The beauty of the logs was that you could do it remotely. How many people want to go to a sanctioned event especially when its not in a city you happen to live in. If I hade to go to Boston, it would cost me about $600-800 minimum. I would rather spend that on a new C2 (We have both an upgraded C & a new D (because I love these things)). Now C2 (and RowPro) will have to add encription to all the C2 outputs so that times can be considered valid (what a useless waste of money for C2).

You're the guy who complains about the logs and you don't even use them!

Try reading Roger Bannister's book about the 4 minute mile and how he was told it couldn't be done. Now 40 year olds are doing it. Take a lesson from this, maybe you could be rowing 40K a day, see what happens. That's the way the literature is leaning today.

So we shall get C2 to change the whole system just to accommodate poor little you then shall we? You want the rules changed just to suit you? What about everyone else?

Yes I complain about the logs, I don’t use them as I do not have the equipment to be able to prove the times I rank. When I do my 2000m test in 2 weeks time I will not be able to prove that time either.

I will however be able to prove my 2000m time come BiRC 2006.

I do not need to row 40k a day, my body has no need for that amount of training, I have structure and planning, I also have lactate testing, blood cell counting (O2) Vo2 max tests on a regular basis. I don not “train on a whim” like someone else claims they do.

Maybe a little bit OT:

why is it so important to prevent cheating?
Of course not cheating is preferable, but I really don't care whether others cheat, I know I (actually) did all my rows.
And all statistics are a motivation for me, no matter if they were actually rowed or not.
I don't understand why people want to cheat, its about your body and not about some internet log :)
And i wouldnt be happy if i'm ranked with something i didn't do :)
So why not just have faith in each other and let the misserable people that want to cheat, cheat.

It is not just about the cheating, it is the blatant denial that comes with it.

I don’t understand why people want to cheat either, if you say that you can do something then why hide from doing it for all to see.

Some people do that to build a false reputation.

Then they say things like they don't want to compete "any more", because they get "too tired" or "might get injured" etc.

It is the Walter Mitty syndrome, a false world that they live in.

2 weeks to 2k, "provable" or not, I sure hope you share the result.

Cheers.

Chad, please re-read my previous comment.

I noted from some previous posts regarding Xeno's training plan. There was mention of training 2 to 2.5 hrs per day and 200 to 240 Ks per week in a lead up to a competion. Assuming 1 day off per week, its between 34 to 40 K per day on some weeks.
