When I do longer pieces on the erg I tend to sweat quite a bit. I didn't really have this problem on the model C, but on my model D, the sweaty hands make the erg handle very slippery. Anyone who has pulled hard and had the handle slip out and have you shoot back in mid stroke knows it's no fun (and probably very dangerous for your back). I find that I'm constantly wiping the handle dry, breaking up the continuity of my workouts.
Anyone have similar problems with the model D and have any ideas? I hate wearing gloves, so I was hoping there was another easy fix.

mcj22,
While I did not have a problemw with the model D handle and sweating, I was having problems with blisters. I ordered a model C handle (about $6.00) and no more blisters. You say you did not have the problem of a slippery handle with the model C so I would say replace your model D handle with a C.

I reverse wrap the handle with thin nylon socks, which makes the handle non slippery at all times.

Reverse wrap is wrapping from the outside to the inside, the same way as bicycle handlebars.
I attach a sock to the outside of the handle with duct tape, wrap the sock round and round to the wood, and attach it to the wood with another 1 inch wide strip of duct tape. Then I do the other side the same way.
The socks dry quickly on the handle, and give you a non slick surface even when soaked with perspiration.
They last a long time, or until you want to change them for new ones.
