PM3 Screen functions fine....except with heart rate monitor

Post by 2010Rower » April 15th, 2006, 8:36 pm

I have a model D erg with a PM3 screen. Everything on it works fine (i think) except when I attatch the receiver to the Polar heart rate monitor. when i first bought the heart rate monitor, everything worked fine. then in a few months the heart rate on the screen was definitely higher than it really was. It would go up and down by a lot (sometimes 5-10 bpm's) at first, and now it stays constant at 211, even if im not wearing the belt. I first thought it was the heart rate monitor, but i have tested both the belt and the transmitter separately on several ergs, and the both function perfectly when on any erg but the one i own. What is going on?????

2010Rower, I'd try resetting the monitor first. This is best done by removing one of the batteries for 20-30 minutes to totally clear it. Note you will lose date, time, language settings and any workouts in memory. Reinstall and try again. If that doesn't work the call tech support on Monday. C2JonW

What other radio transmitter sources do you have near your erg?
Cellphone? WiFi Laptop/PDA? Wireless phone? Bluetooth? Electric motors?

Only if your heater has an electrically "noisy" circulation pump.
