A 1:12.8 pace. Try it...see if you can even break 50 sec.

My brain is breaking apart at just the wrong time for the Bs.

Friday I intended to pull a hard 2k on which to base my splits for the race. But we had a severe windstorm, the power went out, and I had no light source that would illuminate the monitor. Didn't row at all.

So of course I resolved to do the piece the next day, but I had eaten a rather large & late breakfast before it occurred to me that if I wanted to shower afterward I should row at the gym, as there was nothing but ice water in my pipes at home. The gym closes at noon on Saturday, so I hustled right down and posted splits of 1:58, 1:58, 1:57 (all satisfactory) before paddling the last 500 @ 2:18 to finish at 8:11. Why? I can't explain. Absolutely inexcusable.

Today, Sunday, even worse. I flat out stopped handle down after 1000m. :x Excuse du jour: light-headedness due to inhalation of fumes from kerosene heaters.

BUT :) Central Maine Power has now restored electricity, and tomorrow is a new day. I guess. My enthusiasm for the Boston venture is dwindling rapidly.

{edit} Monday, 2/20 >>> 2k =7:50.7

Wonder if the run yesterday had any influence? HR took longer to get up.

None :-( HELP!!!! Sigh... I'm finding it very hard to get back into action after my skiing holiday. Skiing was so much fun - and I love rowing, but hey it' ain't skiing :-) My knees are a bit sore after skiing so I guess I better start on a beginner's programme again, just to get into the swing of things again...

/Anna
