Thanks Hennie. Thanks also for the pm about BIRC. I'm sorry I couldn't be there.

Recovery is going well, I just have to be careful not to push too hard too soon. Next race I am aiming for is Manchester at the end of January.

Very impressed by your workout today. Your 5K (warmup?) was faster than my PB, followed by 2 X 10K, which were both faster than my PB. I still have a lot of work to do to catch up with you...

Hennie,

You are certainly rowing a lot of metres these days. You can't expect to do so much distance AND go fast. Your 10K time, with a sad face, is still faster than my PB, and you had already rowed 10K before you did it. Don't be so greedy, you can't have everything...

Today: Steady rowing. Minimum damper setting: DF 71

2K Warmup - 8:25.4, 2:06.3, 28SPM

5K Steady - 19:59.8, 1:59.9, 26SPM

3K Warmdown (N/S) - 14:09.0, 2:21.5, 26SPM

Just got inside 20 minutes!

Had to work quite hard at the end, but no pain.

Fixed the pace mistake.

QUOTE(johnnybike @ Dec 2 2005, 10:07 AM)

How long can you plank for. Mine is about 2:45 but not tried for a while

The plank is the exercise that hurts me the most at the moment. I used to do 3 X 1:00 with 30 sec rests, but at the moment the best I can manage is 2 X 30 seconds, plus 1 X 1:00, which I did today. Aiming to get back up to 3 X 1:00.

No idea how long I can do the plank when I'm fit. My brother-in-law challenged me last Christmas, and he did just over two minutes while I did just over three minutes, (with my 7 year old nephew sitting on my back for the last minute).

Saw the chiropractor again this morning, and he seems to think things are progressing well, and I do find that my back feels better after my lunch-time workout than it does before it.

You've been going a bit mental on the PBs lately haven't you? I understand you're racing at Manchester, as a heavyweight. I haven't decided whether or not to race yet, but closing date for entries is not until 18th January, so I have a bit of time to get myself back into race condition. I reckon I will stick with the 5K sessions for now with a 2K warmup, until my back feels strong again, and if I can break 18:30 for the 5K by the middle of January, then I will enter Manchester.
