I still bothered by that horrible cold , but had to do some training today.

I did manage to do 2K. wu (7:40.5), 3 X 2K. (7:20,4, 7:29.7 en 7:38.2) , 6K. (23:46.6) and 5K. (18:58.1), for the last two distances I could barely keep my pace round the 2:00 . I hope that I am recovered for the BIRC and have my strength/fitness back.

Hennie

Hennie,

Listen to your body and to Pieter. Take it easy until you are recovered. Then you will be in fine shape for BIRC.

I do not want to whip your butt at BIRC only for you to claim that you are not 100% well.

Neil.

Did some strength and low intensity rowing. No probs doing a 12x100kg deadlift allthough I haven't trained it for a year maybe. Don't remember even. Felt like I could do 20 or more of them but the grip was slipping. When reaching 10 reps, the feeling is so different now from when I was just lifting weights 3 years ago and not doing any endurance training, specifically no rowing. I could do more 140kg lifts probably, but just pulling up the 100kg bar now with no training I might have been able to do more than I could have then. And that says alot if you believe specifity in training has any value, which it does

Does anyone know the best lwt 300m time done on a stationary? I've seen this list
http://www.concept2.co.nz/m300lwrecords.htm
The best time there is done by a 15-16 year old indicating there are better times done. Until I hear of a better time I will consider myself the. Unofficial World Record Holder with 48.9. Hah!

Thanks John! I didn't do it today but have done it twice on public events earlier. Here is the last time, the bottom of the page:

http://www.akademiskahus.se/index.php?i ... 602

The two guys ahead of me are heavy weights. An excellent winning time I think, the winner is "only" 184 cm tall too.

I thought I would just throw my time into the common knowledge of the forum community. Now if anyone asks what a lwt pulls for 300m you can respond...well fast lwts go sub 49

I have not trained specifically for these events though so maybe I can get 48.8 if I should be challenged...so don't challenge me it ....it would be so painful.
