For 1K 3:31.6.

Down from 3:35.9 as of January 6.
Happy at time, disappointed in the row.
Really going for 3:30. First 500 1:45.6 right on schedule.
Could not hold 1:45 much less get to 1:44.
Held like a mad man for the last 150 or so at
1:48 to finish second 500 at 1:46.0

Anyway, it is a decent improvement

Jeff

Nice gradual improvements Ben.

Nice row Neb154. One of my favourite pieces is 5K @20. Hard work but does not take too long.

Afrer a 3 hour run yesterday, where I nearly packed in 3 miles from home and was going to call to get my wife to pick me up, I decided to do a fastish 10K. Felt good from the start. I negative split (which is very unusual for me as I normally go out fast and hang on) to a new PB by 28 seconds 37:47.9

And for MarkP especially, I recommend 6 pints of Black Sheep the night before. Works wonders.
I had the chance to put some venture capital (not much) in when they started but I could not afford to lose the money and did not bother. Big regret now, both financially but also because it produces some great beer. They sponsor a lot of fell races as well which is another bonus.

Jeff, Ben, Hennie, John ... nice PBs! Very nice. Glad to see everyone is still improving even at the end of racing season ... well done gentlemen!

John, Black Sheep? Sound great, although 6 pints, for me, would be 2 or 3 night's worth. Remember, I am both a LW and a LW! I will have to try some when I travel over there for the Evesham Mile. Will you join me?

Not really a pb, more a voyage of discovery....

Heard that olympic guys row most of their pieces at level 4 damper settings. So put it to level 4 and rowed a 1k at 27spm ; 3:06, felt well comfortable first ever 1k so technically a pb, well up for this 2k test i got in a month now, major cofidence boost, must be close to 6:20 form? :D

Owen

But 6.20 is more like 3.00. Can you do that flat out?

One thing, level 4 is differant on every machine. You have to look at the dragfactor. If a machine gets older and more used dust will creep in and lower the dragfactor. So you have to look at the dragfactor of the machine you are using to be sure. found unther settings.
