I am following Xeno's taper program for C-B WIRC, with adjustments to fit my travel schedule. Friday was supposed to be a rest day, but Tuesday is my looong travel day, so I moved the Sat. through Tues. workouts all up one day. For today that meant the Sun, the 19th workout, a 2k race pace, no start, no sprint. Well I don't believe in starts and sprints anyway, so I intended to do my preferred negative splits.

After a full 21' warmup and a break of about 4 minutes, I got off to too fast a start, but the last three 500s were within 0.2 seconds of one another. We were not supposed to be going for a PB, but I still cut 10.2 seconds of my previous best time (8:27.5) here at altitude. Result: 8:17.3 (2:04.3 ave split), 0.8 seconds better than my C-B time last season. If I can stay healthy for the next week and not get too wiped out by the long drive and longer airplane trip, I should be able to do a respectable 2k at the C-B.

Bob S.

Well, I'm not anywhere near most of you guys, but my PB for 10000 today was 44:17:4. Not bad for a 51 year old female rowing since May 05. I envy those who can get their splits so low.
Dropped my PB on 10k from 40:26.9 (Nov. 05) to 39:54.4. I hadn't tried a 10k in about 2 months -- doing almost all Wolverine workouts.

The new camera work in RowPro v2 is great. I had a pace boat with my goal of 40:00. The 500m splits made it easy to keep ahead of pace.

Dave G
