3rd go at CTC. Said I wasn"t going to do it again after last time. But I believe this session is good 2K training so I did it again today and saw a faster time from 1:51.7 to 1:50.9. Pretty much emptied the tank to get it though.

Great improvement. I agree, it's a good piece. Your final 3:00 was pretty much as quick as your 2:00 piece, so not surprised the tank was emptied.

Thanks Alex. It"s surprising I think how close people are to their actusl 2k pace on this session. Some people are a bit under some a bit over but overall pretty close. Hope it's true for me the next time I do a 2k

These sessions are definitely a good confidence boost in holding a pace. Mentally, I find them harder than a distance interval pace because no matter how hard you pull that chain, the seconds don't tick down any quicker.

Agreed, but this is a solid result to be banked, and they're very fine lines between too fast and too slow

mind was stuck on some python scripting today and I def hadn't hydrated properly, which is why I think I hit a mental wall today and just stopped.

After a short talking to, I set off again (no stand-up or drink, just unstrapping) and added a little extra time/distance on the combined volume.... it's getting slowly closer to the hour....

leg was going all tingly - but no pain - so I've raised the foot stretcher a notch and will give that a go next time and see how it feels.

Very true, and the shorter the distance, the finer the margin

Do you think there might be any correlation to dehydration and these tingles/issues? I've found if I'm dehydrated, I can run in to all sorts of problems I didn't think would occur.

I'm not sure if the dehydration has any impact on the leg tingle - in a direct correlation perspective - but I was thirsty, I'd stopped sweating & I could feel my blood pumping in my temples and it all suddenly felt too hard.
If I'd had a water bottle to hand I would have taken a few good slugs and cracked on, as the mind wasn't in a bad place until I just stopped.

I'd probably say that 85% of me didn't want to do this, but sometimes you've got to take your medicine. I was full of excuses until about 11:30 when I dragged myself on.

The 30 mins warmup felt very sluggish until the last five minutes when it started to loosen up. The four minutes felt quite a bit easier than I expected, but the last 300m of the last interval was horrible and there was a big fade from circa 1:38.5 pace.

This is probably as good as I could have hoped for atm, but I'm slowly clawing my way back to form. I had to lie on the floor afterwards, which is something, I'd guess, is about two years since I last had to do that. I took off my HRM as I didn't want to see it, not that it puts me off, but i just didn't want anything to even slightly derail me.

HM at low drag and little bit higher rate, blindrowing.

HRM got confused shortly before ending the last split due to a little too much sweat, HR was in the low 160s before that. Last 5mins pace went from 1:54 to 1:47 looking at the split data.
Session felt good :)
