Thanks Jaime and Maarten.

It was a 0.9 sec. improvement on the 2k.
And a 28.2 sec. improvement on the 10k.

I'm very happy with that last distance.
I didn't think I was ready to pace 1.46 for 10k, but I was wrong
.

Jaime I'm looking forward meeting you.
Maybe we can do a RP 3x2k session this weekend?

Pieter
1000M warm up.

WP LEVEL 3 workout which turned into new 60 minute PB:

14058M

Up from 13519.

1000M cool down.

Still slow, but not as slow as before! Better than a pointed stick in the eye, I guess!

Mark,

Congratulations on the 60m PB! All improvement is good, and is to be applauded. How fast it is relative to others is totally irrelevent. How fast it is relative to your previous effort is what counts.

If we all worried about meaningless comparisons to others, most of us would give up. For example, Hennie's training today comprised a 5K followed by 2 X 10K. All three pieces were faster than my own PBs for 5 & 10K. He is the same age and only slightly heavier than me, but rather than being despondent, I am inspired by his efforts. As soon as my back mends, I will be doing my best to close the gap.

So don't understate your efforts. A PB is a PB is a PB is a PB...

I do marvel at Hennie's training program ... as you said, even his warm-ups smash my PBs! He does have a physical advantage on me, as I'm a LW (or at least within a pound or two of LW today), and I'm only 5' 7". Still, his commitment and tenacity is inspiring.

Well done Mark, spreadsheet updated accordingly
Peter keeps using this injury of his as a good excuse as to why us lwt's (or close to lwt) are catching him up. I heard he was in light training already

Completely unplanned after the post above, but just to prove my point ...

Tonight I was supposed to be doing 30@20spm with a 6:28 guy in the gym. He got cold feet and didn't turn up. So I was a bit stuck for what to do. I thought about a Boat Race or a 6K but I could not remember what pace to go at. So I settled for a 2K and got a new PB.

7:07.0 an improve of 3.3 seconds. At 1k in 1:45.7, 1500 1:46.0 and had a tough last 500m metres with not much left to finish on 1:46.8. So I dropped 3 seconds in the last 500m and there was no chance of going any faster. Hopefully I am still not 100% because I am sure 7:04 is possible.

Nonathlon down again. boo hoo
