I like seeing the red against my name as having the PBs.

My real target in the near future is another HM (as lwt) and go sub 84. Loads of Nonathlon points.

I might be tempted to do a 2K on Sunday as if I was going to BIRC.
We can't allow crazy Dutch rowers to invade our sedate, gentlemanly competition. We need to have Mr Hennie Martini declared "persona non-grata". We need to stop him entering our small green island. He needs to be extradited to the Netherlands.

Do any of you know where the best place is to get results from BIRC as close to "real time" as possible?

Will it be at the C2 UK site? ---->

http://www.concept2.co.uk/birc/results.php

Or, is there a BIRC-specific site?

Since we know so many of you who are competing, we'll be anxious to see how you do and send our congratulations for all the PBs that will be broken that day!

Regards -- Mark

They are running an SMS service here in the UK where you can get individuals results texted to your phone. But only works with a UK mobile number. And they also say there is no guarantee it will work anyway.

New PB tonight, well first attempt actually.

I decided a couple of weeks ago that I needed to get into the 20 spm stuff again to build up power.
Tonight I did my first 40 minutes at 20 with the intention of holding a sub 2:00 split. I managed it, with a 1:59.7 giving me 10022 metres.

I am quite chuffed with that. Next stop 60@20 although I don't think will be able to hold 2:00, maybe 2:00:5

There is one good rower who goes down to the gym, he was next to me doing 20spm stuff as well. When I was matching him stroke for stroke I felt our technique was quite similar. The only difference was that he was pulling 1:48/1:50 to my 1:59/2:00

He did give me advice on technique afterwards which was good. On the return I need to keep my hands moving more but slide back slower and try and keep my chin more upright thereby straightening my back and stopping myself getting hunched up

Gets boring posting these PBs. I think I have picked a quiet week with everone in the UK resting for BIRC and this forum coming out in sympathy.

My last 30@20 PB was 7555 set only last week. Tonight I destroyed that with an improve of 71 metres to go to 7626.

I think working on the technique tips I was shown last night helped but I have a new found confidrnce as well. Long may it continue.
