Early Model C Graphics

Post by ergnut » February 17th, 2025, 3:45 pm

I've had my model C a good long time (december 93 - so probably one of the very first Cs) and I'd like to show it a little love. I'm using the ergs at my gym now so I'm not using it presently, so I can spare having it apart.

It's got a bit of paint peeling, aluminum corrosion and what not from 30+ years of use. It's not a problem for me to paint it - I'll disassemble, clean and paint it using a close match to the original colors, but I don't want to lose the original graphics on the monorail. IMO these are the most attractive graphics C2 have put on an erg. I even dig the patent number reference etc. It's very engineering-focused, simple, functional and evocative of simple, functional philosophy of the machine. I think they lost that a bit when they went to the stylized water flow graphics and wavy lettering.

Has anybody had a vinyl decal made using a digital version of this art? I'm not opposed to paying a bit for the decal and artwork, but if somebody had it that would be easiest.

Thanks

Send an email to info@concept2.com they may have a set of original tranfers that they can sell you.

I called them - the graphic they have for the C is later - it's the multi-color flow version.

The original graphics are definitely a classic touch. I haven’t seen a digital version of those specific graphics floating around, but a local print shop that does vinyl decals might be able to recreate them from the images you’ve shared. You could also try reaching out to the community on forums or Facebook groups dedicated to rowing machines someone might have already made or had them made. Good luck with the restoratioN
