Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
HM r18. Very uncomfortable today, but finished it.
Anyone with a Garmin here? What's the best way to get the session into connect? Connect the rower as sensor, fetch the data with indoor rowing activity and let the watch do it's job or no such thing and only let concept 2 push the data to Garmin?
For the latter one the data is correct, but I don't know if it is recognized for all the metrics; doesn't seem to. The former one has some wrong data (for today's workout no power, less distance, more strokes).
The watch seems to measure the HR very well, strap in ergdata and watch in its own recorded workout have the exact same average. Only the detected max is 3 beats off.
Need to get in touch with that stuff

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I forget how I did it (and it was only a week or two ago), but it works automagically now.
See this:
https://log.concept2.com/help#integrations
I have some memory that I got a code from the PM5 or ergdata and added it in Garmin Connect. After that all rowing sessions appeared in Connect. Previous sessions do not. Hopefully the link guides you through.

From what I saw yesterday, it seems better to let the watch record it, as it recognizes the session and its load on the body, but doesn't, when it is pushed from logbook.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
What Garmin device are you using? I'm not a fan of the default activity app put out by Garmin for indoor rowing but if you go to the ConnectIQ store where you download apps to the watch, there's an app called ErgIQ - I've used this one for a bit and really like it. The reviews are mixed on it but I've never had any problems myself.Sakly wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2025, 2:35 amThx for your answer on this.

From what I saw yesterday, it seems better to let the watch record it, as it recognizes the session and its load on the body, but doesn't, when it is pushed from logbook.
I use ErgZone to program in all of my sessions; I write the session out in ErgZone. Then I turn the C2 monitor on and connect my HR strap. Once the HR strap is connected, I connect ErgZone and send the session to the C2 monitor. Once that's synced, I open the ErgIQ app on my watch and it pairs with the C2 monitor as well. From there, I just start. When I am done, all the data ends up in the C2 logbook, in the Garmin Connect app, in my Garmin watch, and even on Strava if I want it there.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I don't use a watch when rowing, so I let logbook push to Connect. By the time I walk from the erg in the basement and up the stairs, it's done. In Connect I then see the row (e.g. 4x800 r4), time, average HR, max HR, and calories. If I click on the session there's a lot more data like pace, various power measurements, etc.Sakly wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2025, 2:35 amThx for your answer on this.reuben wrote: ↑January 21st, 2025, 9:18 pmI forget how I did it (and it was only a week or two ago), but it works automagically now.

Not sure what you mean by "load". Is that a Garmin-specific estimate of something?
I don't know if one way is better than the other. I just connected the two, and now have more numbers than my (retired engineer) brain wants to deal with.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Ok, then you cannot compare the two options of course
You are using the approach I used before as well.
Yesterday, when I logged the session with my watch, I saw that a metric training effect and training load or something (giving an estimate for recovery time) was calculated based on the effort. This was not done for the pushed session from logbook.
I did the exact same thing yesterday, so I got the entry in logbook from ergzone and in my watch/Garmin Connect from the Ant+ connection to the PM5.jcross485 wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2025, 7:26 amWhat Garmin device are you using? I will have a look at your mentioned app. What exactly is it doing differently to the standard indoor rowing activity?
Need to find out if there is something available for the skierg as well...
Ps: using EPIX Gen 2.

I think the ErgIQ app will work with the SkiErg as well; I could be wrong as I've never tried it but they have the same monitors and are tracking the same data for the most part as the RowErg.Sakly wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2025, 9:53 amI did the exact same thing yesterday, so I got the entry in logbook from ergzone and in my watch/Garmin Connect from the Ant+ connection to the PM5.

The ErgIQ app just seems to capture and push more data to the Garmin watch so that things like training status / load / effect and load focus are more accurately tracked and more in line with the C2 monitor and logbook than the standard indoor rowing app. Whenever I used the standard app, it would seem like the data was a bit skewed from the C2 monitor and logbook for whatever reason; ErgIQ seems to mimic it a bit better.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
This is what I recognized as well yesterday. Additionally, getting the power metric wasn't happening at all. Only a few data points throughout the whole HM, so the watch calculated the power with 6Wjcross485 wrote: ↑January 22nd, 2025, 10:04 amI think the ErgIQ app will work with the SkiErg as well; I could be wrong as I've never tried it but they have the same monitors and are tracking the same data for the most part as the RowErg.

Unfortunately, EPIX is not supported by this app. I saw it could handle skierg and bikeerg as well, but not for me.
For now I will go with the standard rowing activity and ANT+ "Trainer" sensor connection, will try the same with skierg today and use a renamed cardio activity to see what gets logged.
Probably I will ask the developer, if the app can made to support the EPIX. I think the EPIX is very similar to the Fenix.
