Good morning, first time posting here.
Used to row on the novice team at University of Western Ontario, circa 2000. I’ve been using my C2 for the past 12 years, on and off. Have ~2.5m lifetime meters, log card is full so I just row for fun now . I know, easy to buy a new one.
Rowed my first 15k this morning and was pretty happy with it, 59:58. Stopped once to skip a YouTube ad… paid the price for it the whole row . I normally row 30-50k/week.
Wondering if there’s a beer league… make this a bit more of a thing?
44 y/o
195lbs
3 little kids…. so I usually row at 5:30am, before they wake up.

You can clear the ancient workouts from your old logcard and re-use the space you'll gain.
I used to do that at the start of each new season when I was using logcards.

If you haven't looked at it, try the concept2 log. You can upload to it. Easier to look at your workouts, see history, etc. You can bulk upload from the log card before you zapp it using the C2 utility. Boatcoach (android app) used to connect via OTG printer cable and upload each session as you rowed them, not sure it still does. C2 will give you a nice shirt at 5M meters rowed, they even pay postage to get it to you. They also trust you, so you are half way there with that 2.5m lifetime. If the log card won't transfer all your km look into "make up meters". https://log.concept2.com/helpLobodzinski wrote: ↑December 27th, 2024, 11:20 am.. Beer league. Well, rankings are a good start. https://log.concept2.com/rankings 15K in less than an hour is moving nicely. Rankings will let you see how you compare to strong rowers. You are stronger then mid-tier already.
I get a lot of value from being part of an "affiliation" which is a group of people who have C2 logs. https://www.concept2.co.uk/skierg/motiv ... -standings In my case being part of an affiliation lets me see my OTW rowing team as they train off season, and visa versa. Creative use of the log filters lets people see what distance people row each day. Training partners is a stronger connection sharing more data. There are virtual clubs, example https://www.freespiritsrowing.com/forum ... /page/home that serve the same purpose as my OTW team. There are also "team" events where you opt in. Recent example, holiday challenge. https://log.concept2.com/challenges?gad ... -aEALw_wcB
On this forum look at the viewtopic.php?f=3&t=208862 thread. Goto the LAST PAGE then go back a few and read forward. For some it's very motivational. Not sure if brew flows, but it might through direct message (PMs).
For actual beer league, you'll need to find that local. If there is OTW rowing near you odds are good you can find something. is this near you? Maybe they host "winter training"

Hi, that is a very respectable time. My club (Free Spirits - see link in signature) has a meterboard that shows all affiliated members milage by season and we also maintain a log of lifetime metres, membership open to all.
56, lightweight in pace and by gravity. Currently training 3-4 times a week after a break to slowly regain the pitiful fitness I achieved a few years ago. Free Spirit, come join us http://www.freespiritsrowing.com/forum/
