New PB for the 10k: 38:44,5 (from 39:11).
Not the world, but I'm specially happy, as 10k is not my favourite distance, and I've been struggling with the erg since returning from holydays, and as I'm rowing less and running more these weeks.
Didn't pretend it to be a PB (as a matter of fact, today I wanted to row the 2- with Polaco, but it is raining), but I started to focus on my breathing, and got better and better splits, (starting at 2:01!!).
Suppose the cycling/running/swimming X-trainig also didn't do any harm...
Now, Hennie: Please stop training for the next couple of years, so (perhaps) I may be able to catch up with you!

Have a nice row

2 new PBs tonight.

5k - 18:56.9

This followed a short interval session, and I had extra energy. (I also wanted to make up for feeling crappy on Sunday's shortened workout). I did a 19:37 a few weeks ago as a warm-up, and this was technically a warm down. I had one little hiccup at about 2k, where I was going to pack it in, but that lasted about 5 strokes, and got back on pace. Once I cleared 3k, there was no way I was giving up on this one. I'm interested to see how far this one will go down with the fall racing series.

1k - 3:31.5

This was the middle distance in a pyramid with a 1:46.0 pace target. Average pace for the workout was 1:45.4. My 8x500 is at 1:42.7, and my 4 x 1k is at 1:49.2. I'm seeing the training really generating some good gains. A few more weeks, and I expect to see the 4x1k less than 1:45, and then I'll do another 2k test with the 7:00 barrier as the goal.

Congrats to Carole Mac on the 100k. I can't even imagine that right now. I note that you don't expect to do another one. At least this will make marathons seem like intervals now...

Regards,
