The squirrels are chewing the string lights on the deck....finding random pieces of green wire here and there...blasted rodents! Was going to try hot pepper spray, but now leaning more towards applying an omni-fragrant (is that even a word?!) soap bar on the light strings...wish me luck!
Meanwhile, the calendar advances whether we are ready for it or not! Congratulations to all our Lunie reindeer owners....may the reindeer accessories (lights, flashing harnesses, tail and ear wags) be yours for the taking!

I'm baaaaak! I sure miss you all! I'm still recovering from a knee injury this past summer, and I was a little apprehensive about whether or not I would be able to do the Holiday Challenge this year. I finally got my first row of the challenge in this morning, and it is looking good. It might even be beneficial for a return to complete function. Now to get caught up with the forum posts for the Challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing who is active on the BEST TEAM IN THE UNIVERSE!
Cheers!

There is so much to see in our night world, and truly a different appreciation for the wonders of the cosmos can only happen with nighttime views. The Milky Way is always a favorite to view in person...and when you can't see it in person, we rely on those who get those photographs. In recent years, some of our more famous peaks and the roadways that take us up there have been renamed. Mt Evans is now Mt Blue Sky. This photo, taken by cyclist and photographer David Dale was taken this summer at the summit of Mt Blue Sky. This was a nighttime ride to catch views of the sunrise from the summit (you don't have to go to Haleakala to see some amazing things!). Happily, one of David's Evergreen Ride Club teammates, Bob C, was along for company and support - because you really should do that for nighttime rides up a 14'er! The light from Bob's Garmin allowed for a cool shot of the Milky Way. There is a "hill" climb up to the summit most summers, now called the Mt Blue Sky Hill Climb. Cyclists ascend 14,000 ft...and often find a bit of ice and fog. The road to the summit closes once we start getting snowfall, and this year the roadway will be closed for repairs and repaving. The climb is an iconic feature in this area!
Lunies on the 2025 Roster!!
Welcome back to Chuck B and Kristine S !
