5k - 20:38<br /><br />Again, 10m/s strapless.<br />So for those keeping track I am indeed busting my gut, but unfortunately my gut is still bustin'.

Half-Marathon, 21097m, 1:33:53.5. Almost 5 minutes better (4:48.4) than last year.

the 100k is scheduled for Saturday 10th September ...ahgggggg..... hope my butt will hold up (I know it's big enough and loads of padding!!!).... I was intending to go for the World Record in my age category but the nearer it gets the less confidence I get ....... think now I will just be happy to finish it ...<br /><br />Oh and for those of you who don't know Iam doing it for charity .... hee hee so give me your money ...... <br /><br /><a href='http://www.justgiving.com/CAROLES100KCHALLENGE' target='_blank'>http://www.justgiving.com/CAROLES100KCHALLENGE</a><br /><br />and no ... I competed in the Swedish Championships in the lwt 1x class last week end and that went ok. I didn't reach the A final but it was my first race in a 1x...I think just finishing a 2k in a 1x is a big achievment in itself. Yesterday I did a test on the erg to see for sure if I had any power left after loosing weight (72.5 is limit for 1x) and I pulled a PB of 6:38.2, 1.2 secs better than my previous PB and I think I can chop one second off this with a more even pace. <br /><br />500m splits:<br />1:38.4<br />1:38.6<br />1:38.7<br />1:42.5 <br /><br />After 1500m I let myself go way too much because I knew it would be a PB anyhow. It wasn't as painful as I remember my previous PB and I am quite enthusiastic about trying again with a better race plan. This was just holding 1:38s as long as I felt like it and pulling a 2k if I got so far that it would just need a cruise to make a PB. <br /><br />I was also pleased to see the first stroke of 264 watt. As my first stroke PB is 270, this means I have some strength left as well. Might try a 500m soon. Hoping for a 1:24.x this year also. <br /><br />Nearest future will contain some weight lifting though. Don't want to be to scrawny and for me it seems that legs are what looses most of the weight when dieting and rowing...

Had a try at the 500m. But it didn't go too well. I did a 2k two days ago, and then I've done some rather intense biking and no rest day. My legs felt tired during the warm up. Being down to 73kg instead of 75kg also makes some difference I think.<br /><br />Up to 350 m I was at 1:24.0 average, but then, just like during the 2k, I got too comfortable mentaly and remembered my last PB where I was able to keep it at 1:29 at the end. So I figured I just had to not let it slip to 1:30 now...but this was wrong, last time I tried to keep it as long as possible at all paces after 1:24...I missed that part slightly this time and the clock escaped to 1:25.1 before crossing the finish line. Many excuses don't make it better. Still it's nice to rank a decent 500. Maybe I'll try to better it during winter when I'm up to weight again. <br /><br />A positive note was a PB at my first pull, that was 280w. I think that's due to an improved technique and full stability in my back. My technique for the first stroke is to do it long and all I've got from the beginning and then send and impulse to give it all I've got again, about midstroke. This actually makes for an extra yank that boosts the watttage. However, I have been a little afraid of this because of back instability before. And fear of injury makes the body weak. But now I 've felt strong for long.<br /><br />The 100m splits I believe were:<br />16.8<br />16.8<br />16.8<br />17.0<br />17.7<br /> Just need to keep it better from 350m

I just pulled a 19:37.0 warmup 5k. The first 1k was at 2:04 pace, and then it just felt right to keep going faster. I guess the training is paying off. (Previous best was exactly 20:00.0).

Based on that I think you can pull a 19:20 5k, but it will be tough. Keep training and you'll get tougher as well
