and this has made me think about my next question: Is anybody using PM5 data to evaluate the efficiency of their technique?
No, I don't. I think that there can be too much info and quite often keeping it simple is better.

Probably overthinking but also just killing the time while rowing and having selected the wrong boring film (which cannot be changed) during exercise .
This is probably part of your problem. I always think you need to learn control and consistency when training. It's hard to do this when watching TV.

You need to practice rowing at an even pace/rate.

Amazes me that people can watch a film whilst Erg'ing. If absolutely dialed in with form and efficiency perhaps, but I still don't forsee me ever getting to that point.

Steady state = music or a podcast.
Interval work = music I'm not paying any attention too.

Same here. About four or five years ago I tried to row watching Netflix but I really couldn't settle, so music is my only option.

I get seasick watching video. Even if it is F1 and I just occasionally watch.

EXR Game does work for me though.

One small amendment. Music always has to be something that I pay attention to, as i need it to be something to distract me
