A bunny trail of the mind....

Speaking of packing the sleigh, spare reindeer and all....a couple months ago, one of the guys who volunteers to pick up litter along the roadway section that Bike Jeffco adopted sent me a photo of the couple of bags of trash that he had collected. He had weighed the trash (59 lbs!) prior to disposal. The Open Space projects have weighed big clean up projects, usually in tons!, but we hadn't reported our collections in lbs. Seemed like a good idea, so I got a portable scale that would weigh bikes (and trash) - everyone always wants to know how light is light, or how heavy IS that e-bike. Naturally, having a new "toy" has inspired me to go around weighing other portable things. Like the backpack I travel with....the one that weighs a ton. Now that we are in the age of "less is more", I'm having to rethink what goes into the bag. Those who travel internationally have been having to do this for awhile now - still remember the 15 lb (7 kg) weight limit for NZ. I've always kept a tag list of what I need to make sure goes into the bag, but didn't worry too much that the number of chargers could/should be minimalized (so far, the second biggest contributor - especially the power banks). Ha! Something else to consider as we prepare for travel or even commuting to work!
