Hi folks, can anyone point us in the right direction why the rower is doing this?
It clicks and whether you have it on resistance zero or ten, it's like there is hardly any resistance.
Many thanks

Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
If there's no drag from the flywheel then the problem is almost certainly the bearing clutch. Do a few searches on the forum and you'll find posts on the topic.
Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Many thanks will this cause that horrendous clicking noise too?
Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Quite likely. There's a ratchet mechanism in the clutch bearing that is "trying" to catch. Cleaning & lubricating may help. Or not.
I suppose it is possible that the chain is off the sprocket, but I would expect that to jam rather than providing low resistance.
Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Clicking could be the oneway clutch has been taken out and put back in the wrong way round; so who dunnit? In any case no resistance means its not working.

If this were the case, the chain would not retract. Also, the clutch bearing makes very little noise when freewheeling. I can't hear it at all over the flywheel, even after it has spun down for a minute. Not like your typical bike or ratchet wrench.
