Congratulations to SPU for maintaining their winning streak this season. The Diamonds matched their 81 boats of June in producing by far the largest flotilla.

Future Challengers:
September - Free Spirits
October - Fitness Matters
November - SkiErg

18 Years Young

The Free Spirits Team celebrate their 18th year together this year. To mark this we have an ‘18’ themed event for September.

Row 3 x 6’ / 2’r

Three six minute intervals with 2 minute rests. Standing start for the first interval with rolling starts permitted for the following two intervals. There are no rate restrictions. Enter the distance completed within the three active intervals.

Cheers Jon, I like the sound of this and having announced it on my team page (The Diamonds Over Sixties Erging Group) it's getting a very favourable response so thank you, a very good CTC and quite a relief after the nighmares caused by the July one which was not popular with my mob at all!
67 year old, 72 kilo (159lbs), 5'8''/174cm (always the shortest on the podium!) male. Based just south of London.
Best rows as an over 60. One Hour.....16011 metres. 30 mins.....8215 metres. 100k 7hrs 14 mins.

We deliberately picked something to contrast with the RowAlong Tabata event. I have to say, to my surprise, I actually really enjoyed that one.

Hang on, what? Your team hated their own challenge?

Many thanks to RowAlong for their imaginative challenge. It attracted 133 crews to our August event. SPU finished at the head of the leaderboard again. That's all four challenges so far this season. Congratulations!

The Diamonds totalled more than half the fleet with 73 boats afloat. That's great participation.

Future Challengers:
October - Fitness Matters
November - SkiErg
December - Sub7

If the team making the challenge puts the details on here that would be a good idea, I'm not on Faceborg.

Well, i am not in the FB either and could not read all the comments there, but did not notice any guidance if rolling starts are allowed like usual (except for the 1st interval of course), but challenge is

Oct 2024 - The Fitness Matters October Challenge
2000m (rest 2mins)
500m (rest 4 mins)
1500m (rest 90s)
250 (rest 3 mins)
1000m

If you have PM5 and ErgData installed then just open the link below with the web browser on same phone/tablet that you have your ErgData installed in and you are ready to go ( NOTE: Chrome/android tablet worked for me, Vivaldi browser does not fully work, opening the link with Vivaldi only shows my CTC Oct result, not automatically transferring the challenge to the PM5) ) . Haven't tested any other web browsers than Chrome and Vivaldi.

Same, I’m not on Facebook so it’d be great to have them continue here :)

Cannot see any stipulation about not doing rolling starts_ after the 2k it is up to you.

SPU maintained their perfect start to the season by finishing first on the leaderboard for the fifth challenge. Congratulations!

The Diamonds also maintained their perfect record by launching 79 boats. Great stuff!

A big welcome back to the MAD team. We've missed you guys.

Red Line Rowers have the January challenge.

Future Challengers:
November - SkiErg
December - Sub7
January - Red Line Rowers

Apologies for not checking that the October Challenge had been posted here. I'll make sure that happens from here on.

This was posted by the Ski Erg Team on the CTC Facebook page;

The November 2024 CTC chosen by team Ski Erg will be a 1000m time trial in honor of the annual Concept 2 SkiErg World Sprints taking place November 7th - 10th!

This would be a great opportunity to participate in two events with one workout! Complete a 1000m ski from Nov 7-10th to join in on the SkiErg World Sprints AND submit your score for the CTC SkiErg Team! We would love to see more participation in both of these events.

If you already submit row scores for CTC, and you ski but don't have a CTC account for SkiErg, remember you can make a second account and join team SkiErg to submit both!

Is this 1000m only on a SkiErg - not sure what is intended here?
