Ooo, this is solid progress, and a great result! A bit too solid for my liking as I need to pull my finger outahooton wrote: ↑August 19th, 2024, 2:20 pmSlowly creeping on my goal of 6:30 2k for BRIC.

Cool. Very Nice.reevio wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2024, 6:15 pmSummer 2021 was when i got the C2 and so Rowlympics was the first Challenge I remember.
Was fun to row against myself and beat all the times/distances, including PBs for 2k / 6k / 10k.
We'll see how the training is going in 4 years as I may well want to conveniently forget these stats comparisons by then!![]()

Be warned, in my first rowing competition I started off at 1:34(!!) until circa 750m in when the inevitable happened and the adrenaline rush wore off and left me struggling for about 500m and then in a world of regret and pain for the last 750m.
Advice heeded! Thanks mate.Dangerscouse wrote: ↑August 20th, 2024, 3:40 amBe warned, in my first rowing competition I started off at 1:34(!!) until circa 750m in when the inevitable happened and the adrenaline rush wore off and left me struggling for about 500m and then in a world of regret and pain for the last 750m.
Try your best to get that starting piece under control in your practice, as it's all too easy to forget it on the big day
Great row! I love the sub 6:30 goal. I remember when I chased it and it was a very satisfying one to hit and when I first did it was at a comp. Prob will drop a couple seconds with pacing better. I have same issue of always going too fast early but as long as not drastically different it will be OK.ahooton wrote: ↑August 19th, 2024, 2:20 pmSlowly creeping on my goal of 6:30 2k for BRIC.

Thanks Keith. It really is a fantastic goal to chase. Solely because there is no way of achieving it without sheer hard work and dedication.KeithT wrote: ↑August 20th, 2024, 1:32 pmGreat row! Nice one Rod, a brilliant time m8. I know what the grinding to a halt feels like lolRod wrote: ↑August 23rd, 2024, 10:32 amAfter the PB and British Record in the One Minute last week I had to give the 500 a good go this week so blasted away and despite just about grinding to halt on the last stroke managed a new PB and British Record in the 65-69 Lwt Category with a 0.7 improvement over the time I did back in January ending up on 1:32.5 plus went to the top of the World Rankings. DF was 135. Stroke Rate was 46 spm.![]()
