Hello,
I’ve set up ErgRace before, where each machine is connected to ErgData and then joined a race I created as the organiser. Worked well. However I have two studios in different locations.
Is there a way of connecting the machines up via ErgRace for each of the studios (we have 9 machines in each studio 3 of each row/bike/ski). Then having the main machine join a private online race?
Otherwise what are the options? Would we connect up like an ergathlon and the. Use the main machine to connect to the online race? Or connect up like ErgRace with a laptop. Unsure if then each laptop can join the same race?
Much appreciated for any answers!
Best,
Flo

I'm having trouble understanding exactly what you want to do, but i gather you're trying to get machines from studio1 and studio2 to all run in the same race?
In this case, you have 2 options. You can have all machines individually connect to ErgRace Online with the app, or you can put your hand up to beta (or alpha) test the ErgRace3 software. It's quite rough (from the last time i tried using it), but it allows ErgRace Online competitors, and multi-site PC connected machines to all compete in the same race.

Thank you, yes this is exactly what I’d like to doz. really appreciate the reply,
I’m guessing if they connect individually, they will each need a device each with the app on it?
I.e. we’ll need 9 devices (per studio) with ErgRace on it and each one has to connect? This may actually be impossible to manage.
Yes please to testing out the beta ErgRace3, where do I get it from

Correct. The devices themselves shouldn't be an issue, everyone has one these days. The app is on both major platforms.
email ergracesupport@concept2.com and ask to try it out.

There is actually a third option i forgot. You can get in touch with time-team.nl and ask how much it'll cost to use their software. It's the go-to for most erg comps, but i've heard the cost is fairly prohibitive for small competitions.

What's your preference for connecting all the ergs?
(a) Spaghetti cable the ergs to a PC running ErgRace
(b) Bluetooth to each erg using the ErgRace app
(a) Gives you local control and it's easier for participants, as all they have to do is jump on an erg and row. But that's about it - no multi-site capability so it's kind of a non-starter. And none of their data gets uploaded into ErgData/Logbook (technically it's possible but it's a lot of work for you).
(b) More work for your participants (download ErgRace, connect to machine, punch in ErgRace codes, etc.) but can span multiple locations. Also uploads individual data to logbook. Requires good local wifi and PM5s.
