Have to say, there's something to be said about dedicating to one primary activity. Maybe adderal would help?

Waiting on the arrival any day of a new racing canoe, a Spencer Extreme. Will practice on milder waters a few times before taking it out on the big (meaner) rivers.

16 km easy today, resting for a time trial.
My goals for the 2019/20 season:
5 months working on speed-strength;
1 month participating in the Tour de Skierg;
4 months participating in the Skierg Performance Series;
2 months for distance events or whatever is needed most at the time.

Mostly either 5k or 30mins, with the odd 10k occasionally.

Usually train steady, I find it harder to do intervals on the skierg than on, say, a treadmill. But only had my own skierg a month or so, and am training around a shoulder injury.

Steve, I'm doing 100 percent on the Skierg at the moment, plus daily loosening exercises and walking.........
Same here John. Until my hip gets fixed in late Sept .
I'm working on increasing my weekly meters and staying in heartrate Zone 2. I plan on attempting to establish a age group world record in early Sept for the 100,000 meter Ski Erg.

On another note, has anyone found pullups or hanging from a pullup bar beneficial? I've been thinking of trying it.

Beneficial in general - yes, of course. Every strength exercise is.
Specifically for skierg? Not necessarily. But a strong lat helps in a good stable drive.

I just did a steady zone 2 30 minute session on the ski erg as I'm wanting to get better on them as I've entered my first hyrox in September. I have a Bike Erg and Row Erg at home and the ski erg I use at my local gym. My HR is quite similar to running HR for same RPE on the ski. That's maybe because your stood up and not sat down on a seat.

Ski Ergs are a great workout, doesn't surprise me though as Concept2 machines are quality! They need to bring out a treadmill !! 😂👍

They feel fantastic (after) if nothing else. Post Erg'ing, lifting, running...if there is an opportunity for me to hang, I am taking it.

Normally a couple of skierg sessions a week. Usual has been just to do 5k for one session and then mix 3 x 1k skier intervals with 3 x 1k intervals on the treadmill. Today, however, tried a Norwegian 4x4 on the skierg (having worked out how to set the interval function properly) and that was very good, a very time-efficient workout. Think I'll be doing that more from now on.

I run a couple of times a week, ride a bike, and do a couple of judo sessions a week and some sandbag work for strength, so fair to say xc skiing not my sole focus.

Pulls-ups - especially with a palms-up grip - are a great exercise. Do them and dips and you're get a great workout for the upper body. Do the pull-ups with a palms-down grip, and your biceps or grip will likely give out long before your lats do.

Just completed 7/7 this week on skierg with 2 30k.
I was focused to reach 1Mil meters to buy the Rowerg :mrgreen: .

Anyway, my typical workouts are long intervals (10x1000, 5x2000 and 3x5000) and steady state at around target marathon pace like 1hr, 20k, hm and 30k.

Actually I will try to Pr on Marathon so volume and 10k pace work.
