What Training Have You Done Today?

Looks like the old thread is broken so started a new one.

Somebody ranked a 30min session which pushed me down to 2nd. So the target was to get back the top spot which needed to be >1.54.9

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M

Monday 15th
Online indieVelo cycle race 36 minutes. Average power 228W. Average HR 154bpm.
Best power output over that time for about 3 months so hard work for a wee lad.

Tuesday 16th
C2 Training Guide V2 Original Plan Preparation Phase Medium Week
2 x 20' UT1. 23spm @ 2.14/500 (minimum pace)

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
40:00.0 9,049m 2:12.6 150 816 23 147
20:00.0 4,523m 2:12.6 150 816 23 146
20:00.0 4,525m 2:12.5 150 816 23 148

Average HR actually 135 and 140. C2 method of using end of split/interval HR for averages doesn't really work for long intervals. Especially as I tend to warm up into these and pull faster at the end than start so no levelling out of HR.
Age 52....Weight 61 Kg....
Row 26 Aug 21 to Mar 22. Cycle Mar 22 to Jun 24. Now mixing the 2.
2K 8.02.3 (23 Oct 21)...7.37.0(15 Mar 22)
5K 22.14 (2 Oct 21)
Resting HR 45 (was 48 in 2021)....Max HR (Seen) 182 [185 cycling]

6k for July CTC. I"m a bit wary of putting too much power down my left leg at the moment as I've been troubled by a painful tendon/ligament behind my left knee for the last week. Think I twisted it getting out of a car . Going to see a physio tomorrow but don't feel I can row at 100% at the moment. PB for 6k is 2:02.5 pace!

Cheers and yes could put in a better score but only want to do that when I have to. Like to keep the sessions as low rate as possible to keep on top. Should be not far away from 8k plus but would need to rate r27 I think.

Probably somebody will force you to do so in the next weeks/month
I would assume r26 is enough for you to get slightly above 8000m based on these data. You only need a 14W higher average.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Post by Dutch » July 18th, 2024, 3:18 pm

A very scrappy 30 min row today. I am starting to lengthen my rows now as i build towards the 1 hr mark. I started with no shoes or straps then my heels hurt, so had to get some shoes on after 15 mins. I then had to stop and get a cushion as my butt hurt, so for 30 mins my average time was 2.33. I did do a 2min stretch at 2.00. spm was 17.
I have only done 30 mins 3 times in the last 2.5 yrs, so building up is fun all round in mind and body, but I do just go at a pace to complete it.
I want to do a 50k by November, maybe before and I fathom about 4.5 to 5 hrs currently will be the time.
I have been fitting in a kickboxing class once a week as well around my training so trying to incorporate it all has been fun. I have had to slow my pace at everything.
Hopefully all will fall into place in the next few weeks, all is going to be ut3.
