Hi Guys
just wondered if anyone else is finding the flexfoot in the C2 to be too narrow. I run to the gym and row, and all the new running shoes have wide heels making it impossible to slip into the flexfoot. Are there any extra-wide ones availble?

I've never had an issue, nor heard of this issue, but I also don't wear running shoes in recent years.

I guess its something C2 might address if the fashion for wide trainers continues for long - but like Stu I've not heard of this before.
Completely understand not wanting to change....but you will be compromising your erg training by using running shoes - you want a solid sole with as little compression element as possible - exactly the opposite of the road runner. Just a thought, but treadmill running is a forgiving surface anyway so running shoes not really required in a gym. Would you're overall scores be better by prioritising the erg requirement over the running fashion?

I wore my running shoes for a while, they also got stuck.
They are Brooks Beasts, shoes for heavy pronators and maximum stability. They are very wide at the heel.
I now wear my taekwondo shoes. Much better! No need for support or correction anyway.

When erging I wear Vibram Five Finger KSO shoes. They work quite well and provide a solid connection to the footplate.
Certainly have no excess heel width issues.

Re: FlexFoot width issue with running modern shoes
A ton of people are now running in zero drop minimalist shoes. I wear mine for rowing. Love them. On the rare occasion when I have run a bit in them they feel great. I’ve been observing the latest trends in shoes being marketed to men and I’m pretty sure I’m going to see guys with mattresses strapped on their feet pretty soon. To each his own, but I’d look at the shoe, not the C2 equipment.

I also think the issue you'll have is that erging shoes are naturally normal width heels, so there's no reason to make wider stirrups, as I'd honestly think that hardly anyone would want them, so there's no business case.
I know it's not ideal, but can you wear different shoes on days that you erg, or leave a pair at the gym?
