Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
ATTENTION Fergus;
Forum Flyers boat IV has gone missing from the April CTC Baker’s Dozen challenge. Four seats occupied; 1 hwt seat open. A list of unfloated boats of other teams remains—most of which contain only 1 or 2 entries. I can’t imagine this deletion is intentional by either human or programmatic agency but if there is a threshold for inclusion that FF boat 4 did not meet, what is it? The list of unfloated boats was recently added to the new Indoors Outdoors version of the game. So birthing pains perhaps and to be expected. If the disappeared entries are down to errant electrons, please have the FF boat 4 data restored or request resubmission by the four persons effected. Thankyou.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Got an email prompt from Inside Indoor today which included this sentence:
Every month, the Cross Team Challenge winner from the previous month sets the next challenge
Is that the new way? Or does the old formula still dictate who sets the challenge?

I don't think that idea is true, not by any stretch of the imagination. The CTC choice remains the same - using Joe Keating's magic formula.

Good. That suggestion could all too easily be dominated by one or two teams.

Anders has posted the May CTC:
After a democratic process that went to sudden death, the Norwegian Vikings ended up with the May CTC being "1814"
17th of May 1814 was the day Norway got its constitution.
Challenge:
Row 1 min, 8 min, 1 min, 4 min with 1 min rest between intervalls.
Record your total distance.
No restrictions.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Dougie, I seem to have missed the team affiliation when registering for the CTC. I've found it now and updated if, but can you remove my unaffiliated entry or update it to Team Oarsome?
Thanks
Stu
Thanks

Like you, I can't do anything on the new CTC site. Everything is requested by filling in the email form at: https://insideindoor.com/contact-us/Dangerscouse wrote: ↑April 30th, 2024, 3:34 am... but can you remove my unaffiliated entry or update it to Team Oarsome?

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Congratulations to SPU: Te Waka for winning the April challenge and finishing their gold medal season with a flourish. Great stuff also from The Delivery Room in the silver and Sub7 in the bronze positions. Well done to all the teams and individuals who have rowed in the CTC this year.
The Diamonds launched 77 boats which, I believe, is second only to the flotilla of 85 they floated back in October.
Future Challengers:
June - Forum Flyers
July - The Diamonds
August - RowAlong

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
I've updated the historical CTC standings to include the 2023-24 season. The first table shows the number of points gained while the second shows the final position. Here, points go from a maximum at the head of the leaderboard to one point at the foot. For me, it's interesting to see the the rise and fall of teams as the years pass by. Sub7 are to be congratulated for maintaining a high position over the nineteen years that our competition has been running.

Just a note to confirm that I saw RowAlong have the August challenge to decide. We will put our thinking hats on.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
So currently in this months challenge, we have 5 full boats of Diamonds, with no other teams floating yet. Why are none of them taking the first positions on the leaderboard? They are at positions 16 to 20.
