I find both these issues are sweat related. Haven't had BC issues since I started wearing both wicking underwear and rowing shorts, prior to that had a huge issue.
Citius Remex seat solved this for me. Completely gone. Any other solution tried only half worked. YMMV (and I haven't done anything past a FM or 70K rowing per week).

As for blisters, you probably sweated more profusely in the FM so not surprised worse than 100k in that regard.
Always wondered if a handle with a lot of holes could help that: maybe the movement can force some sort of airflow in it and out of the holes.

@Sascha- I think we want to see you very comfortably below 2.45 bro!
Not sure, if "comfortable" is the right term for a 1:57 split
But that's around what I think could be managable...on a good day :)

I could muster one up with you virtually  I feel an endurance piece coming on some time in August (giving me three full months preparation).

I thought about going for it in May, but that sounds also very cool and motivating B)
Never did a kind of race session, either virtual nor in person!
In that case I could use my current momentum for the shorter stuff to reach some other goals for 5k, 6k, 10k, 30min and probably also 60mins. And go again for a 2k, as some of the gents here say I should be faster, than my PB reports...

Probably not the best prep on paper but it was effective. Took from Thursday off due to travelling to Fiji for work for the weekend. Didn't train whilst I was over there, but spent a lot of time walking around and then smashed about 27 beers in the pool on Saturday night, had a curry and then flew back Sunday morning. Walked around a farm yesterday with the kids and then did a 15 minute warm up today and then gripped it and ripped it for a 2km to finish the season off.

Seeing as I started the season at 7:09.5, dipped under 7 minutes for the first time in November, then did a 6:58 in Feb for the TOC, then a 6:53 for the CTC in March? Had one last crack today and under the 6:50 mark. :D

First PB in quite a while, I've been focussing on hypertrophy and finding it hard to juggle rowing and weights - especially on the same day.

3:26.2 1,000m 1:43.1 319 1399 35 178
0:41.0 200m 1:42.5 325 1418 34 165
0:40.8 400m 1:42.0 330 1435 35 176
0:40.7 600m 1:41.7 332 1443 35 182
0:41.9 800m 1:44.7 305 1348 34 184
0:41.8 1,000m 1:44.5 307 1355 37 186

Previous PB was 3:27.1, so nothing massive, but felt pretty good for this one. Have never seen my HR above 182 before, so I must have given it my all.

I've gained around 5kg, since taking up strength training, so sitting uncomfortably between LW and HW at ~75kg. I'm on a bit of a "mini cut" at the moment, so hoping to get just under 75 and stay there. I do think the extra muscle helped with this row as I don't think my fitness is at the same level as it was when I was getting PBs ever other week late last year.

Very impressive progress....now under 6:50! There has to be a scientific correlation between the beers and the time reduction.

Well done Rob. I possibly value these type of small PBs more as they're harder fought for as you're so close to your limit.

A massive PB is a great ego boost, and also something special, but when all you do is squeeze out a little bit more, and you know you give if 100%, then that's maybe, just maybe more special.

Got my 10k sub-37 today, taking ~29 seconds off my PB. That was probably a little overdue given my solid fitness and recent HM PB, but milestones are always particularly nice, especially as I'm currently stuck on the wrong side of a milestone for the 1 hour!

Got my 10k sub-37 today, taking ~29 seconds off my PB. That was probably a little overdue given my solid fitness and recent HM PB, but milestones are always particularly nice, especially as I'm currently stuck on the wrong side of a milestone for the 1 hour!

It possibly is a little overdue, and expected, given your recent successes, but you still needed to actually do it, so this is a great milestone and PB.

The hour can be a strange session imo, so I'm not too surprised you're struggling al little bit with it. It's definitely becoming more and more low hanging fruit though, so it won't be long.
