Tsnor - you say the PM5 doesn’t remember the belt. With ErgData running I would always see the heart icon show on the PM5 without prompting it thru the connect menu. Then ErgData would display HR connection following. Not disputing what you say, just curious.
Agree. I have the PM5 automatically connect when I start it up. Very quickly after that the heart symbol turns red. That has not happened since this issue appeared. Have to manually connect HR monitor. Then start PolarBeat followed by ErgData and have no problems with HR.
Sorry, i don't check here that often any more.

This is the concept2 doc that says ergdata remembers the heart rate belt. I think it refers to the old ergdata app. It's possible that the new firmware updates to pm5 to support new Ergdata also added the ability to remember HR belts to the PM5. I am certain the old FW versions for PM5 did not remember HR monitor, only ergdata. Simple test - power off your phone (or whatever runs ergdata) before you power on the pm5. With the phone still off see if the pm5 auto connects to your belt. I don't think it will.

Pairing while connected to the ErgData application
Put the chest belt on, and press any button on the Performance Monitor (PM) to power it up.
Connect ErgData to the PM.
Select Connect Heart Rate. Within 5-10 seconds, the PM will list identification information for any chest belt it finds. This information may include brand or model information and/or and ID number.
Choose the ID that corresponds to your chest belt. (If you are unsure, check the chest belt ID, which is typically listed on the back of the belt.)
Select Confirm Selection.
On the ErgData app, select Yes to, "Remember Heart Rate Belt?"
This saves your chest belt’s ID to your ErgData application so that the PM automatically detects your chest belt in the future.

Same issue started several months ago-before HM (H10) started with no effort. Each session had to hit connect HM, went through steps and it worked. Last week, had to review IOS Bleuetooth and noticed repetitive devices for my heart monitor. Weird. Will use ANT. Something change. Thank you for information.

That last bit of instruction is what stopped. Even though answering yes to “Remember Heart Rate Belt” the PM fails to automatically detect the belt at subsequent workouts. Have to manually connect it now each use, where as recently it would perform as the above instructions indicate. Not a big deal, but defeats the Remember Belt routine… Oh well.

I reported the not auto-connecting issue to C2 and Tech Support replied with this:

Thanks for your email. There was a bug introduced in an ErgData update that broke that functionality. The fix will be in the next app update. I suspect that the update will be pushed to the public this week.
