Re: PM2
It was a great monitor and I'm still refurbishing them down here in New Zealand but if you are in the USA or Canadian just buy a brand new PM5 monitor, its so cheap over there and the PM2 was only made up until 2003, the majority of them I see are like 1996. They have all now had battery leaks and are not reliable anymore.
The PM5 can be configured to any model of Concept 2 rower ever made.
The PM5 is now onto its 4th Hardware version, its a great monitor now.

Re: PM2
Thanks Carl for answering me so promptly! Best I can see is around $200 Cdn for a used one. I was hoping to spend 1/2 that. Just want for basic bare bones info. Don't want all the bells and whistles or to hook up to a phone. I opened mine up and don't see any battery leakage damage or anything apparent? Don't know if anything can really go bad with the touch pad? I think that's about the only part I see offered. What's your experience with them-the pad that is? Guess I'll just have to count my reps until I stumble upon one?

Re: PM2
Get a new PM5, that price for a PM2 is crazy.
The PM5 boots up just as fast as a PM2 and you don't have to use any of the fancy stuff, you can just get on and pull the handle and not press a single button if you do not want to.
The wireless heartrate is the best upgrade over the PM2 and then there is all the connectivity to your phone and the free ErgData app and free online rowing round the real time loop as well.
Once you move to a new PM5 you will never want to go back.
The PM5 new in the USA is still USD$160 for the Model C retrofit kit right ?
If the PM2 has no battery corrosion, its an easy fix for me, shame you are in Canada, but I do have people air mail me them from all over the world.

Re: PM2
Thanks for all your time taken on this! If I airmailed it to you I would need an address for a quote to ship? I know it's hard, but what do you estimate to repair mine? Or do you have retrofitted ones you could exchange for mine? I can send a pic of mine of both sides of the board if you want? But I'd need an email address as uploading to sites on my Mac is usually a real dilemma !
