It doesn't have to be a straight 5km if I'm reading the challenge correctly. It's the accumulation of the metres, so if you wanted to you could do 4x1250m and it would add up to 5km, or 3x1750 and you'd be at 5250.Newfie girl wrote: ↑March 6th, 2024, 8:14 amThanks for your comment. I now totally agree that maybe 6 days a week with straight 5000m rows may be to much? I don't know if I broke up it up into intervals to give my lungs a break in between would be better or not. But am very tired of last few days and dreading the thought of rowing. But I also go walking after my morning rows from 9 -12km and do some strength training as well. Maybe I just need to make a schedule for each day of the week and stick to that for a while. Hard to breathe doing all this stuff and just tired.
You could put in a decent rest time in there to get your breath back, something like 120 seconds. No need to really push the pace either, it's just about getting the metres in. Especially when you're first starting out, getting the form right and keeping the enjoyment levels is really important.
