Model A

Post by HankSnow » April 8th, 2024, 2:52 am

Currently rowing fairly consistently on a classic model A with the pm5 upgrade. My question is, how do the model A's compare with the newer models as far as pace and speed etc. Ten yrs ago I would easily break 1:50 pace on the newer concept2s without breaking a sweat and now with the modelA concept2 I'm lucky if I break a 2min pace going full out. Naturally I'm assuming the machine is harder to row but it has been years and years since I've been in decent cardio shape.
Anyone have similar experiences?

The pace numbers are calibrated for the model you're using, and should be comparable regardless of which you're using. With the model A you can adjust the gear ratio which may affect your efficiency; the PM5 measures the work you've done regardless.
