Put in lots of high intensity work in this week and my aching thighs just couldn’t face another one today. So I decided to have a go at my 5k PB and took 32 seconds off it. Concrete proof that high intensity intervals work!

18:20 to me seemed like one of the hardest things I’ve done, then pales in comparison when looking at the rankings with guys posting times in the 16 minutes range. Astonishing🦾

Congratulations, that's a massive improvement. Sub 17 minutes is definitely a big achievement, but you never know if you might achieve it with enough hard work.

Stoked to finish my first FM yesterday, and snuck in under the 3hr mark as well at 2:58.59 :D I put a full write up in the long distance thread for anyone interested in the gory details…

As you'll know Rob, every big milestone seems far away until you reach it, and I believe that sub 80 is within your sights. I bet that going sub 81 mins felt far away only six months ago didn't it?

Well done on this result, your hard work has paid off.

Hello I'm 9yo and did my highest week of rowing 30km six 5km rows. I want to be in the million metre club before I turn 10. Does anyone know if a 9yo has done it before?

Not sure for distance accumulated but there are rankings for particular distances on the C2 site. You can then compare progress with others.

PB is a PB! I bet that 1 second hurt like hell though! Always funny how with some of the longer distances you can shave 5-20 seconds off depending on the day/training done, etc, and they feel like you're fully in control, yet the shorter distances are sometimes a second or less and they hurt way more.
