Thanks for your comment. I now totally agree that maybe 6 days a week with straight 5000m rows may be to much? I don't know if I broke up it up into intervals to give my lungs a break in between would be better or not. But am very tired of last few days and dreading the thought of rowing. But I also go walking after my morning rows from 9 -12km and do some strength training as well. Maybe I just need to make a schedule for each day of the week and stick to that for a while. Hard to breathe doing all this stuff and just tired.
It doesn't have to be a straight 5km if I'm reading the challenge correctly. It's the accumulation of the metres, so if you wanted to you could do 4x1250m and it would add up to 5km, or 3x1750 and you'd be at 5250.

You could put in a decent rest time in there to get your breath back, something like 120 seconds. No need to really push the pace either, it's just about getting the metres in. Especially when you're first starting out, getting the form right and keeping the enjoyment levels is really important.

Thanks for your advice! I may see about doing this and try not to kill myself from lack of oxygen😢. But I think I need to do up a workout regime where I'm doing intervals of workouts so I'm not doing too much in one day. Only problem is, when it's good outside for walking, I really enjoy putting earbuds in, cranking music to a dance beat song in repeat and hit my feet on road with every beat! I walk along the highway with the Atlantic Ocean next to me and breathing that saltwater air, so invigorating for the body and mind!

I think that's quicker than yesterday. I'll take the 28th off to rest, then all ready to start, on the 1st which is a work day, sods law, then I'm off for four days.

Hey everyone! Edward recommended this forum to me, where you all keep it real, so I thought I'd check in! I've been participating in the March Madness challenge and managed to row 5 meters yesterday and today, along with completing a WOD. I don't think I'm ready to tackle a 10,000-meter row daily just yet, as I only quit smoking last Sunday and I'm still working on perfecting my rowing form and breathing technique. Each day is improving, but I have a long way to go to clear out my lungs completely.

I'm pleased to have achieved a few rankings on the board 🙂 and I hope that each row will help me progress further as I continue. I believe you can view my stats, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I'm always open to tips, advice, and motivation wherever possible. I have a night shift tonight and won't be off until noon, so I probably won't be as perky tomorrow!
