CTC done for the month and a 5 second PB. Feeling really good about this result.

Code: Select all

Time	Meters	Pace	Watts	Cal/Hr	S/M
6:53.4	2,000m	1:43.3	317	1391	28	179
1:43.9	500m	1:43.9	312	1373	28	170
1:43.6	1,000m	1:43.6	315	1383	28	179
1:43.5	1,500m	1:43.5	316	1386	28	183
1:42.5	2,000m	1:42.5	325	1418	29	186
YES!!! Great result and I need to sharpen up as you're getting too close to my current SB. Well done.
Oh really? How about a friendly challenge, on the last day or week of the season do a 2km "race"? Gives us 5 weeks to get ready for it and then BOOM all out 2km for sh*ts and giggles.

Thanks, like I said I am really happy with it. After only just going under 7 for the first time back in November 2023 to be well under for all splits only 4 months later, with December being a write off, is really getting me to wonder what I could get it down to if I did some more higher rating stuff.

That’s fantastic. I also PB’d for this for CTC last week. Went from 7:09 to 6:54. I am relatively new to it so my understanding is times will tumble then plateau. I have to say, it’s becoming addictive! My wife is astonished!😂

It’s really helpful to find great advice and encouragement with like minded ergers on this forum.
I was telling my wife that a sub-7 2km is one of those 'fitness goals' that most people know that if you can do it then you are in a pretty good spot fitness wise. I had this conversation with her about it and then the next day I broke 7 for the first time. Now it's the 'how low can I get this' type thinking. I am currently on week 10 of the C2 Interactive Plan but I've worked out my target splits based on a 6:50 2km time as that was the goal for the end of the plan. Really nice to see that clearly this tactic is working as getting close-ish to 6:50 is nice, but I know those next 3 seconds will hurt a bit.

Today was the day for the first all out 2k since October.
Forgotten how much they hurt!

Didn"t do quite as well as I hoped but still a nice PB
Previous best 7:39.6 Oct 14th 2023.

Not bad for a guy who's only been rowing for a year and turns 64 in a couple of weeks.

May well have another go before the end of April to see if I can squeeze under 7:30. Pacing went almost to plan but didn"t have quite enough in the tank for a sub 1:50 last 500 which I thought I could do.

Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M
7:32.8 2,000m 1:53.2 241 1130 30
1:54.8 500m 1:54.8 231 1096 29
1:53.4 1,000m 1:53.4 240 1126 30
1:53.2 1,500m 1:53.2 241 1130 30
1:51.5 2,000m 1:51.5 252 1168 33

Deal!!! May the best man win...as long as it's me
I could very well imagine that Ryan and I would also join in, he had also suggested something like that... 😇
Doubt I'm going to get close to your 6:37 or Ryan's speed, but I'll give it a crack. The more the merrier.
