Training
Ranger back on Saturday 5th of June when I had a 1:53.8/500 60min PB I thought going much quicker was going to take some doing .... a week and a day and 2.4secs/500 quicker I am learning more about myself.<br><br>It makes me think that physiology presents limitations and but it is the mind that creates the barriers. I KNOW I have not developed that much physical improvment in a week but I am more unwilling to accept the barriers

First real attempt at 500M yielded a time of 1:43.5 this morning. Relatively happy since this places me at 76% in the online rankings versus all my other times of 90%+. It makes me think I should push harder on the other pieces, but I don't want to overdo it either. My current goal remains to achieve a higher level of CV fitness before concentrating on strength.

At 110 kg, you might find that anything over _18_K will start to get pretty tough, but if and when you get there, you certainly have the potential to move right on past 17K, too, if you want to. I have done 16.7K for an hour and I'm 35 kgs lighter than you. In terms of potential, there is about a second a kg advantage in the 2K. 35 kgs, then, is an advantage of almost 9 seconds per 500 from distance to distance. So while 17K (1:46 pace or so) is probably pretty near the limits of _my_ potential for an hour row, _your_ potential is up over 18K. <br><br>So how does this sound? 6:04 (1:31) for the 2K; 18K (1:40) for an hour. But this is entirely possible. It's just your decision to make. <br><br>ranger

6k PB. 22:56 <br><br>Just training for some base aerobic fitness, but I've seen such an improvement in my paces lately that just putting in a little effort eclipses my past efforts (6k was admittedly one of my softer PB's). Resting HR PB (just before I set off to row) set last night: 44 BPM. <br><br>My easy row (I do not let HR go past 150 or 70% of reserve range) last night was 2:04 pace. That too was a PB. I liked to see this because in the past to see "easy" rows was usually when I was sufferning through interval work. I've not done any interval work (nor suffered much at all), but have rowed (or biked) nearly everday since mid April. <br><br>On the flip side, my car had a flat this morning in the driveway. Way to start off a Monday! (although waiting for the repair meant more rowing today). <br><br> <br><br>

Nothing to brag about, but I beat my PR in the 5k by 2 seconds... 19:51.0 (27SPM). I'm exhausted but thrilled. <br><br>I'm in my 3rd week of my training schedule (courtesy of Coach Tippin). I had my 500 times planned, but Chris told me to put down 250 times. That's what got me from 2k to 1k as I wanted to quit so bad. Now, off to softball.

GREAT JOB! Every PR is worth bragging about, so long as you are proud of it. You dont have to be pulling world class times to be proud of it. You have been working hard for the past three weeks and in just 3 weeks you got a PR and I can guarentee you in just a few more weeks you will be able to pull this time during a hard training piece.<br><br>Everyone wish him luck with his 10k time trial next week!<br><br>Cant wait to see your splits!<br><br>Great Job Again,<br>Tippin
